Three-micrometer mid-infrared (MIR) femtosecond pulse sources with a high repetition rate (HRR) have potential applications in number of fields such as biological imaging, optical frequency combs, and gas detection. In this paper, by optimizing the fiber length cavity structure, we demonstrated highly stable, self-starting mode-locked fluoride laser (MLFFL) fundamental ∼165 MHz signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) 90 dB. As far know, stands highest ever acquired directly from an ultrafast MLFFL >2.5 µm MIR region. Stable 352-fs pulses at 2795 nm average output power 392 mW low integrated relative intensity noise (RIN) 0.018% [10 Hz, 10 MHz] were generated. The root mean square (RMS) fluctuation is 0.17% over 2 h, which indicates excellent oscillator stability. This high-performance offers practicable scheme both for scaling MLFFLs high-precision longer wavelengths.

Spatiotemporal mode-locking (STML) opens a new avenue for implementing high-energy, high-peak-power mode-locked fiber oscillators. However, the compromised beam quality poses critical limitation to their broader applications. This study presents method enhancing of STML lasers by employing spatiotemporal dissipation involving quenching and reabsorption effects multimode erbium-doped fibers. The proposed technique introduces saturable absorption, achieving high without stringent conditions required Kerr self-cleaning (BSC). Integrating with BSC, we demonstrate an all-anomalous-dispersion Er-doped laser, which produces solitons 6.7 nJ pulse energy (the intracavity 25.8 >52.8kW peak power), sub-500 fs duration, M x 2 / y =1.23/1.20. To our knowledge, it is record power 1.5 µm band soliton lasers. Additionally, approach enables generation noise-like pulses =1.04/1.13. work not only advances understanding dynamics in lasers, but also paves way toward high-performance rendering them very attractive

We experimentally investigate control and analysis of spatio-temporal nonlinear interactions by implementing simultaneous supercontinuum generation in transverse modes chip-integrated dual-core waveguides. The approach can be important for progress multimode integrated photonics.
