Despite the widespread acceptance of need for intersectoral and multisectoral approaches, knowledge around how to support, achieve, sustain action is limited. While there have been studies that seek collate evidence on with a specific focus (e.g., Health in All Policies [HiAP]), we postulated successes working cross-sectorally achieve health goals one approach can glean insights perhaps translate other approaches which work across sectors (i.e., shared HiAP, Healthy Cities, One Health, approaches). Female authorship trends in a high-impact Canadian medical journal: a 10-year cross-sectional series, 2013–2023 DOI Creative Commons

Importance Women are under-represented in senior roles within academic medicine, including as authors high-impact journals. Objective To examine trends and predictors of female authorship the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ) only journal over a 10-year period to understand gender balances publishing. Design This cross-sectional study analysed articles published CMAJ from 1 January 2013 31 December 2023. Introduction What are the different ways in which health equity can be sought through policy and programs? Although there is a central focus on global public health, we recognize that stakeholders understand as taking approaches not single conceptual approach. Health equity and distributive justice: views of high-level African policymakers DOI Creative Commons

Health equity matters, but there is no universally accepted definition of this or associated terms, such as inequities, inequalities, and disparities. Given the flexibility these investigating how policymakers understand them important to observe priorities perhaps course correct. Accordingly, study analyzed perceptions high-level within WHO African Region. An online survey was distributed attendees WHO's Fifth Sector Directors' Policy Planning Meeting for Region by email. After responses were collected, both inductive deductive coding applied. In analyzing concepts, three became apparent: access services and/or care, financial protection, recognizing subgroups. And when we investigated theory, most respondents' aligned Rawls' 'Theory Justice' (95%). Assessing the governance environment for private sector engagement in health in Africa: Results from a multi-country survey DOI Creative Commons

Abstract Background The role of the private sector in health is clear many countries but engagement can be improved. World Health Organization (WHO) developed a global strategy 2020 focused on engaging service delivery through governance mixed systems and detailed six behaviours to guide its Member States. To operationalise these ideas into practice, Regional Office for Africa conducted multi-country study understand perceptions around behaviours.
