This article reports on a qualitative study that explored self-care practices among first-year studentsin managing stressors related to the experience in context of COVID-19 pandemic.Qualitative data were collected using purposive sample between March and June 2022. A total 26first-year students registered at university technology South Africa participated byproducing digital stories sharing how they practised self-care. The domains adoptedas framework analysed thematic analysis. Six practicesemerged from categorised as physical, emotional, spiritual, relational, professional,and psychological. findings show engaged range practicesacross including exercising, listening music, performing ancestral rituals,donating blood, following successful people social media, learning new skills. Further, relational was most fundamental domain underpinned students’ well-being. In contrast, oversleeping or sleep deprivation, reckless spending, eating unhealthy food cope with pointed practicesin stressors. Unhealthy can threaten well-beingand possibly academic success. Student affairs services need design programmes andcurricula prevent harm support adequate designing programmes, socialinvolvement engagement are principles should be emphasised. Since the onset of COVID-19 pandemic, a growing number health researchers working with participatory visual methods (PVM) such as Photovoice and Digital Storytelling (DST) have shifted from in-person to online hybrid settings. The purpose this scoping review was explore what existing methodological literature tells us about these adaptations. Our oriented around two research questions: (1) What practices adaptations been implemented create deliver projects, namely Storytelling, in settings? (2) are ethical equity considerations for promoting community member engagement PVM? We searched six international databases peer-reviewed articles published all years, total 32 met our inclusion criteria. Findings reveal that many were focused on experimentation extra planning preparation. Ethical opportunities flexible practice well recognizing potential tensions tradeoffs. findings suggest while there reasons be optimistic possibilities increasing reach, accessibility inclusivity PVM initiatives, ambiguities exist regarding engagement, adherence, sustainability future Future qualitative should experiences project teams along further post-pandemic it emerges.
