Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) has disproportionately affected various population groups, including adolescents living with HIV (ALHIV). In many contexts, ALHIV have been reported to experience mental health issues following their diagnosis. However, there is a limited understanding of the faced by in Indonesia and contributing factors globally. This study aimed explore challenges among Indonesian ALHIV. A qualitative design employing one-on-one in-depth interviews was used collect data from (n = 20) Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Participants were recruited using snowball sampling technique, beginning dissemination information sheets through healthcare facility that provides care services via WhatsApp group for HIV. The thematically analyzed, guided analysis framework. findings showed experienced variety upon learning HIV-positive status. Their also influenced range family-related factors, stigma, discrimination, which facilitated specific situations settings, shared house parents siblings school setting where they met interacted different peer groups on daily basis. Family-related broken homes, family conflicts, lack support, being orphans, negatively impacted health. awareness perceived anticipated enacted stigma or contributed faced. indicate pressing need tailored targeted intervention programs activities support health, reduce promote status disclosure safe ways both within beyond.
