Abstract
Aims
There
are
currently
neither
onsite
services
nor
any
known
studies
that
addresses
oral
health
of
persons
with
special
care
needs
(PSCN)
within
disability
activity
centers
in
Singapore.
This
study
aims
to
report
on
the
status,
disability‐related
barriers,
and
assess
how
these
barriers
limit
pathways.
Methods
Results
29
PSCN
from
a
multiethnic
mixed
day
center
were
screened
over
two
days.
Their
ages
ranged
18‐59
years
old
(mean:
31.3).
Proportion

Abstract
Objectives
People
with
severe
intellectual
or
multiple
disabilities
(PIMD)
have
been
receiving
dental
care
in
a
specialized
unit
offering
special
dentistry.
For
most
of
these
adult
patients,
the
initial
consultation
is
complaint
driven.
In
addition,
limited
ability
to
cooperate
due
their
often
means
that
treatment
for
patients
usually
carried
out
under
general
anesthesia
(GA).
Chairside
attempts
are
exception
rather
than
rule.
This
retrospective
study
evaluated
whether
consistent
practice
behavioral
management
principles
and
techniques
embedded
specific
environment
enables
successful
PIMD.
Materials

feasibility

prophylaxis
