Abstract Parental reflective functioning is the parent's ability to reflect on psychological processes in their child and themselves as a parent. Recently, an infant version of Reflective Functioning Questionnaire, PRFQ‐I, has been developed validated using confirmatory factor analyses. The present study aims validate PRFQ‐I Rasch model sample 531 Danish mothers at risk depression infants aged 2–11 months. Our findings indicate that seven response categories were too many for distinguish across all items. Prementalizing showed adequate psychometric properties, while Certainty Mental States Interest Curiosity required recoding with 4 5 optimal scores, respectively. After rescoring, both subscales overall properties. However, shortening may be advisable due local dependency between items 8 17. Additionally, 2 14 ( “I always know what my wants” why I do child” ) function better separate subscale. We recommend scores should analyzed interpreted curvilinear rather than linear manner.

Abstract Mentalizing is, to a certain extent, considered context specific. However, research on the association between parents’ abilities reflect upon their infant's mental states outside social interaction (offline) versus during ongoing parent‐infant (online) is currently limited. This study investigated self‐reported offline and online mentalizing in sample of primarily ethnically Danish mothers ( N = 142), with symptoms postpartum depression, 1–11‐month‐old infants. Offline was assessed Parental Reflective Functioning Questionnaire—Infant Version (PRFQ‐I) interactional mind‐mindedness. Ordinal logistic regressions showed that higher score PRFQ‐I prementalizing subscale negatively related number overall mind‐related comments appropriate produced by infant. Our results indicate partial overlaps parental reflective functioning mind‐mindedness, particularly maladaptive associated lower levels depression. Post‐hoc examination effect depression this only evident medium high Findings implications are discussed.

Abstract Parental reflective functioning (PRF) is important in guiding parenting behavior. It traditionally measured with interviews that are relatively time‐consuming. A self‐report measure of PRF, the Reflective Functioning Questionnaire (PRFQ), has been developed but not yet extensively validated across different sociocultural contexts. Abstract The Circle of Security – Parenting (COSP™) is a psychoeducational intervention aiming at fostering secure child-parent attachment relationships. In randomized controlled trial, we investigate the effect COSP™ as an adjunct to care-as-usual compared only for at-risk families. Mothers and their 2–12-month-old infants were into +care-as-usual ( n = 197) families in Copenhagen or 100). At-risk status was either mothers diagnosed with postpartum depression and/or showed social withdrawal. primary outcome maternal sensitivity which coded Coding Interactive Behavior. Results no significant differences between RCT groups on (all p s ≥ .146). We discuss these findings relation applicability targeted population who can benefit from COSP™, whether alternative programs would be more effective infants.

Abstract Profiles of parental reflective functioning (PRF) may offer valuable insights into individual differences in PRF. Previous studies have identified PRF profiles; however, further validation is needed.
