Diabetes Mellitus (DM) and the resulting Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is a significant health problem around World. In 2019, total number of diabetics worldwide was 463 million, 35% had some DR. Objectives: To determine correlation between severity known risk factors. Methods: Analytical cross-sectional study design used with convenience sampling in primary, multispecialty day care facility under Baqai Foundation (Khushal Nagar) rural area Sindh from 2020 - 2022. A 133 patients DR according to International Classification Severity Scale (ICDRSS), which correlated different Spearman rank used, result considered when P value <.05. Results: The results showed positive Age, Random Blood Sugar, Hypertension, Smoking. Glycated hemoglobin hyperlipidemia were not significantly correlated, mainly because small sample size. (23 14 respectively). who tried have Lipid Profile Hemoglobin done stage four or five ICDRSS. Conclusions: Most factors studied positively Besides intended study, findings highlighted non-awareness about its consequences. Awareness campaigns screening programs for are urgently required tailored our circumstances.

Abstract Diabetes is a prevalent global concern, with an estimated 12% of the adult population affected by 2045. Diabetic retinopathy (DR), sight-threatening complication, has spurred diverse screening approaches worldwide due to advances in DR knowledge, rapid technological developments retinal imaging and variations healthcare resources. Many high income countries have fully implemented or are on verge completing national Eye Screening Programme (DESP). Although there been some improvements Africa, Asia, American further progress needed. In low-income countries, only one out 29, partially DESP, while 21 50 lower-middle-income started policy cycle. Among upper-middle-income third 59 nations advanced agenda-setting, five having comprehensive DESP 11 early stages implementation. use 2–4 fields fundus images, proven effective 80–98% sensitivity 86–100% specificity compared traditional seven-field evaluation for DR. A cell phone based hand held camera presents potential low-cost alternative as device. While this method low-resource settings may not entirely match stereoscopic photography, positive outcomes observed. Individualized intervals standard many high-resource nations. that lacks resources, more sporadic, i.e. evidence-based often less frequently, which can lead late recognition treatment required The rising prevalence poses economic challenge nationwide programs AI-algorithms showed detection could provide promising solution future burden. summary, narrative review enlightens epidemiology necessity programs. Worldwide evolution existing results but also revealed limitations. Technological advancements, such handheld devices, tele ophthalmology artificial intelligence enhance cost-effectiveness, accessibility low resources where distance shortage ophthalmologists exists.

Abstract Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is an eye disease that causes blindness and vision loss in diabetic. Risk factors for DR include high blood glucose levels some environmental factors. The pathogenesis based on inflammation caused by interferon other nuclear proteins. This review article provides overview of discusses the role proteins disease. Some core such as MAPK, transcription co-factors, co-activators, others are part this review. In addition, current advanced treatment resulting from will be analyzes, including epigenetic modifications, use methylation, acetylation, histone modifications. Stem cell technology nanobiotechnology proposed promising approaches a more effective DR.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) has become one of the top 3 blinding eye diseases in world. In spite recent therapeutic breakthroughs, it is not yet possible to cure DR through pharmacotherapy. Cell death thought play a key role pathogenesis DR. Moderate modulation cellular autophagy and inhibition apoptosis have been identified as effective targets for treatment Numerous phytochemicals emerged potential new drugs We collected basic research on herbal monomers keywords such apoptosis, conducted systematic search relevant articles published PubMed database. This review provides effects reports various animal models vivo vitro available literature, emphasizes importance current targets. Based our review, we believe that modulate inhibit may be potentially candidates development It strategy further application medicines treatment.

Objective: To determine knowledge and self-care practices in patients type 2 diabetes mellitus regarding diabetic retinopathy (DR) evaluate association socio demographic diabetic. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out at endocrine department Lahore General Hospital. 208 nurses made up estimated sample size for this investigation. The data were gathered using convenient sampling technique. Data analyzed SPSS version24. Results: results showed majority participants 180(86.5%) had poor only 28(13.5%) good retinopathy. There no between characteristics as p-value greater than 0.05. Majority 132(63.5%) incompetent 71(34.1%) practices. practice Conclusions: According study's findings, poorly understood Type patients. findings also show there correlation knowledge, behaviors, participant demographics.
