Abstract Background There are few reports of longitudinal serologic responses in children following Sars-CoV-2 infection and vaccination. This study describes SARS-CoV-2 antibody infection, vaccination, or both (hybrid immunity) a cohort Canadian children. The objectives our were to compare levels hybrid immunity examine decline after final antigen exposure. Methods Alberta Childhood COVID-19 Cohort (AB3C) was prospective conducted from July 2020 September 2022 with repeat sampling across 5 visits. Children under 18 years age enrolled for serial measurement virus vaccine infection. Results sample size 919; participants 50.5% female, 48.2% > 12 88.5% white ethnicity. median peak spike IgG level those only not different no vaccination (233 AU/mL (IQR: 99–944 AU/mL) vs. 3 1–5 AU/mL; P = 0.1765). Participants infections had higher than where preceded (median: 36,660 22,084 − 40,000 17,461 10,617 33,212 AU/mL); < 0.0001). In linear mixed methods model, infection-only low that stayed stable over the duration without further exposures. Those slowest rate time at 4% (95%CI: 2-5%) per week, compared 7% 6-8%) week. Conclusions conferred through (2 + doses) followed by highest longest lasting levels, who an vaccination-only, infection-only. longer-term clinical importance these findings, related prevention repeated severe outcomes need doses, is yet known.

Abstract Seroprevalence studies on SARS-CoV-2 are essential for estimating actual prevalence rates of infection and vaccination in communities. This study evaluated based total anti-nucleocapsid immunoglobulin (N) and/or history. We determined the seroprevalence anti-receptor binding domain (RBD) antibodies across age groups. A cross-sectional was conducted Chonburi province, Thailand, between October 2022 January 2023. Participants included newborns to adults aged up 80 years. All serum samples were tested anti-N Ig anti-RBD IgG. The interviewer-administered questionnaires queried information history records. Of 1459 participants enrolled from population, ~ 72.4% infected. number infections higher children < 5 years, with evidence decreasing significantly increasing age. There no significant differences sex or occupation. Overall, 97.4% had an immune response against SARS-CoV-2. IgG rate lower younger vaccinated individuals slightly increased 100% seropositivity at ages > 60 Our findings will help predict exact Thai population. Furthermore, this is public health decision-making development strategies.

Concerns over population-level immunity have been heightened with each successive wave of COVID-19, prompting questions about whether it is primarily derived from vaccination efforts or previous natural infections the virus. We wished to determine seroprevalence SARS-CoV-2 antibodies among healthcare workers (HCWs) in Pretoria (Tshwane), South Africa, and establish they were infection. Serum samples collected HCWs during fourth COVID-19 between 1 December 2021 13 March 2022. The tested using Abbott Spike IgG (S-IgG), IgM (S-IgM) Nucleocapsid (NC-IgG) kits. Of 221 participants, 76% (n=168) women 24% (n=53) men. A total 96.4% (n=213) participants vaccinated. Natural infection-derived detected 23% (n=51) vaccine-derived 74% (n=164) HCWs. Even after three waves most their detectable vaccination. Vaccination remains an essential tool protect patients

Abstract Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) emerged in 2019 China and rapidly spread worldwide, leading to a pandemic. The threat of SARS-CoV-2 is subsiding as most people have acquired sufficient antibodies through vaccination and/or infection prevent severe COVID-19. After the emergence omicron variants, seroprevalence against N protein elicited by ranged from 44.4% 80.2% countries other than Japan. Here, we assessed Japan before after appearance variants. Serosurveillance was conducted between December 2021 March 2023 In total, 7604 3354 residual serum or plasma samples were collected Tokyo metropolitan area Sapporo, respectively. We found that representative regions increased approximately 3% 23% also higher among young compared with elderly. Our findings indicate unlike countries, Japanese population has not been infected, raising possibility future epidemics

To determine the clinical manifestations and outcomes of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in children who underwent liver transplantation (LT). A retrospective study was conducted at a transplant center Thailand to include LT recipients aged < 18 years had been infected with COVID-19. Out total 54 children, there were 31 probable cases (57.4%) diagnosed using an antigen test kit 23 confirmed (42.6%) polymerase chain reaction (14 children) or severe acute respiratory syndrome 2 (9 children). Approximately half (25, 46.3%) received BNT162b2 vaccine before infection, 3 doses 5 respectively. While some COVID-19 during delta pandemic, most (46 85.2%) omicron which included fever (67.4%), cough (50%), rhinorrhea (47.8%), symptoms lasted approximately days. None diseases. All patients mild-to-moderate advised continue same immunosuppressive therapy as infection. Compared unvaccinated one dose vaccine, less common those ≥ (OR: 0.08; 95%CI: 0.01-0.57, adjusted for age types). Favipiravir prescribed (90.7%). Only few long abnormal function tests lasting > 1 month (4 7.4%, both). Pediatric variant pandemic reported mild despite undergoing therapy.

This is a SARS-CoV-2 seroepidemiological study in pediatric population(0-16 years) during BA.5 Omicron predominance period Athens metropolitan area. Serum samples were tested for nucleocapsid antibodies(Abs-N), representing natural infection three sub-periods of predominance: 01/05/2022-31/08/2022(period A), 01/09/2022-31/12/2022(period B) and July 2023(period C) epidemiological data collected. Additionally C Abs-N seronegative spike antibodies(Abs-S). A total 878 children (males:51.3%) with median age(IQR): 108(36-156) months seropositivity the 3 subperiods was: A:292/417(70%), B:288/356(80.9%), C:89/105(84.8%), P-value<0.001. increased from to 0-1-year (P-value: 0.044), 1-4 years 0.028) 6-12 0.003). Children 6-12y had highest seroposi-tivity rates all (A: 77.3%, B: 91.4% C: 95.8%). significant correlation monthly antibody titers was detected (rs:0.812, P-value:0.008). During C, an additional 12/105 (11.4%) Abs-S seropositive ser-onegative estimated at 96.2% (101/105). The current seroepidemiology illustrates high exposure rate period. These could guide public health decisions regarding immunization strategies protection measures.

COVID-19 poses risks and leads to complications for vulnerable populations, including children. Unreported cases of among children hinder our understanding the true disease burden. In this study, we aimed investigate proportion who report no prior infection SARS-CoV-2 but nevertheless exhibit serological evidence infection. Between November 2022 February 2023, recruited adolescents under 19 years age lacked a history Participants underwent antibody testing assess presence IgG antibodies specific nucleocapsid (N) spike (S) proteins. Demographic contact information were also collected. Among 260 COVID-19-free children, overall anti-N positivity rate, which varied across groups (4%-25%), was 9.2% (24/260). Contact with individuals positive COVID-19, particularly children's mothers, significantly increased likelihood positivity. The median 34 remained unvaccinated against lower than that vaccinated (6.5 vs. 9 years; p < 0.001). During 4-month follow-up, rate 17.8% (42/236) negative antibodies, irrespective vaccination status or chronic disease. We discovered previously undisclosed risk seropositivity increases substantially household contact. Regarding exposure clinicians must remain vigilant, as remains concern.

To investigate the seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid antibodies (NC-Ab) in sex workers. A cross-sectional/observational study was conducted between March and December 2022 among workers living Chiangmai, Thailand, aged over 18 years who had engaged work previous 12 months. Consenting individuals completed a questionnaire blood drawn. IgG-specific for assessed using Euroimmun anti-SARS-CoV-2 NCP ELISA (IgG). 264 (52.3 % male) with median age 31 were included. The overall NC-Ab 42.4 (44.2 males, 40.5 females). It significantly higher non-Thai than Thai (57.1 vs. 37.1 %, p = 0.004) reported history COVID-19 as compared those did not (54.9 34.3 0.036). differ by sex, age, receipt vaccines, or number vaccine doses. seropositivity associated being non-Thai, having monthly income >15,000 Baht, received inactivated been diagnosed COVID-19. This shows high Thailand during fifth epidemic wave Omicron variant. may be due to combined effects transmissibility variant high-risk behavior individuals. Specific health education interventions are needed this specific population.
