Food addiction (FA) and disordered eating behaviors related to obesity are gaining attention in clinical research fields. The modified Yale Addiction Scale 2.0 (mYFAS2.0) is the gold standard questionnaire measure FA, while another tool Measure of Eating Compulsivity 10 (MEC10). Discriminant validity present when two measures similar but distinct constructs show a correlation that low enough for factors be regarded as distinct. However, discriminant these has never been tested. Through cross-sectional study design, 717 inpatients (females: 56.20%, age: 53.681 ± 12.74) with severe completed MEC10, Binge (BES), mYFAS2.0. A structural equation model (SEM) was fitted, freely estimating latent correlations 95% confidence intervals (95% CI). results confirmed scales’ excellent psychometric properties. Importantly, factor between MEC10 mYFAS2.0 (est = 0.783, CI [0.76, 0.80]) supported their validity. In contrast, BES 0.86, [0.84, 0.87]) exceeded recommended thresholds, indicating absence suggesting potential overlap, consistent previous evidence. conclusion, demonstrates properties more BED not FA.

Background: Adverse life occurrences (e.g., severe accidents, violence/abuse, organic disorders such as COVID-19) can elicit traumatic responses that heighten fear, anxiety, and depression. However, scientific research has shown certain variables, self-esteem, based on theories like terror management theory (TMT) the anxiety-buffering hypothesis (ABH), mitigate negative effects of trauma. This study aimed to test ABH by assessing buffering role self-esteem in relationships among impact experiences, Method: An observational design was used. involved 321 participants who experienced COVID-19 a experience. Background and Objectives: Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, concerns about psychological impact of disease-related anxiety on public health have risen. This study aims to compare general death levels between acute coronary artery syndrome pneumonia patients. Materials Methods: A cross-sectional 132 individuals, including myocardial infarction (MI), patients, healthy volunteers from Trakya University Hospital (Turkey), was analyzed. Validated scales like Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Coronavirus Scale Short Form, Thorson–Powell Death (TPDAS) were employed. Demographic data such as age, gender, income levels, employment status, presence a close relative with COVID-19, whether participants followed COVID-19-related news collected compared across groups significance level 0.05 set for all analyses. Results: Among 41 MI, 50 subjects, group showed highest (p = 0.01) BAI scores 0.008). Both MI patients had significantly higher TPDAS controls < 0.001).
