Abstract COVID‐19 resulted in global restrictions on migration, with pronounced consequences Australia, where the resettlement of refugees was significantly curtailed from March 2020. This research, comprising a third phase an ongoing study refugee settlement and integration, seeks to understand broader implications these family separation reunion among resettled Australia. Employing mixed‐method approach surveys interviews conducted late 2021, we explored various themes that emerged pandemic's effects reunion, such as concerns about living difficulties, maintaining contact overseas, financial hardship, challenges specific pandemic. The findings reveal negative impact refugees' ability reunite families, evidence pointing differences between gender, visa category, language group/ethnicity. research underscores need for innovative approaches address impacts governments expedite pathways alleviate isolation uncertainty refugees.
