Abstract Recently, we proposed polycontextural networks as a model of evolving systems interacting beliefs. Here, present an analysis the phase transition well scaling properties. The contains agents that strive for consensus, each with only subjective perception. Depending on parameter governs how responsive are to changing their belief exhibits mediates between active where constantly change beliefs and frozen phase, almost no changes appear. We observe build-up convention-aligned clusters in intermediate regime diverging susceptibility. analyze detail behavior close this transition. provide analytical estimate critical point show properties space–time structure these self-similar behavior. Our results not contribute better understanding emergence consensus distributed but also models, motivated by social systems, susceptibility—the sensitivity own beliefs—drives growth clusters.
