ABSTRACT Sweetpotato is gaining momentum in Niger and Nigeria due to its contribution food nutritional security. The aim of this study was assess the variability among sweetpotato clones collected from Nigeria. Hundred were evaluated during rainy season 2020–2021 using alpha lattice design. Data on quantitative qualitative traits analysed R software. Analysis variance exhibited a highly significant difference ( p < 0.001) for all traits, indicating high clones. revealed values genotypic phenotypic coefficients variation except mature leaf size storage root length, which indicated presence wide gene variability. High heritability along with percentage genetic advances suggests possible rapid improvement these traits. results factorial analysis mixed data grouped hundred into three main clusters, C1, C2 C3 49, 14 37 clones, respectively. Clones EBO/SP8, JOHN TIS‐81‐64 × 1 had highest yield, whereas Nwa Oyorima, PYT/25/19 PYT/4/19 best upper biomass yield; therefore, could be further used as potential sources improve
