The heavy metals (HMs) and metalloids such as Cr(VI), As(Ill), Pb(II) in contaminated water are toxic even at trace levels have caused devastating negative health impacts on human beings. Hence, the effective adsorption of these from is important to protect biodiversity, hydrosphere ecosystems, In this study, a leachate modular tower (LMT) was developed for singular purpose adsorbing HMs. LMT contained nano-slag liner, which synthesized slag. blended different proportions 90:10; 80:20, 70:30, 60:40, 50:50 combined mass clay nano-slag, evaluate most efficient ratio blends capable HMs with 100% efficiency. A series tests were performed capacity embedded liners. Attenuation periods 2, 5, 7, 10 days temperature 500 °C also selected improve sorption rate uptake Subsequently, effluents subjected inductive coupled plasma spectrometry (ICP-MS) concentrations percentages adsorbed HMs, calculated using pseudo-first-order model. results revealed that removal 98%As, 99%Cd, 99.9% Pb achieved 50%:50% soil liner equilibrium period. Furthermore, 98%Zn, 95.45%Cu, 93.3%Fe, 97%Ni, 89% Hg upon further investigation same dosage conditions. scanning electron microscopy (SEM) demonstrated some traces absorbed found surfaces, indicating significant changes microstructure. indicated increased significantly due elevated temperature, aluminosilicate structure, prolonged attenuation period, associated an pH level higher cation exchange (CEC), liner. Abstract Gadolinium‐based contrast agents (GBCAs) have revolutionized medical imaging, enhancing the accuracy and diagnostic value of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The increasing use GBCAs has raised concerns about release gadolinium (Gd)(III) into environment potential risks for human health. Initially, multiple administrations were associated only with nephrogenic system fibrosis disease in individuals impaired kidney function. Even if Gd(III) retention tissues not yet been correlated any specific disease, caution is required extensive GBCAs. related to employment GBCAs, due possible deposition retention, should be extended also healthy without renal impairments. To ensure well‐being patients, there a need develop even more stable better‐performing new MRI approaches requiring lower doses and, finally, innovative methods recovering from both patients’ urines environment. This can strong advantages health environmental sustainability, considering scarcity, being rare earth element, shared guideline reduce, as much possible, metals.

The degradation of water resources is related to anthropic actions such as rapid urbanization and industrial agricultural activities with inefficient land use occupation management. Water pollution caused by organic inorganic contaminants represents a current challenge for researchers humanity. One the techniques used remove pollutants from aquatic environments bioremediation, through metabolism living organisms, especially phytoremediation, plants decontamination agent. Aiming demonstrate mechanisms, solutions, perspectives regarding phytoremediation in environments, literature review was conducted, highlighting following subjects: heavy metals contaminants, evaluation resistance removal microorganisms biofilters artificial floating islands type. From research carried out, it can be concluded that alternatives macrophyte have proved an effective efficient alternative high potential including concomitantly microorganisms. There no mechanism well-defined specific absorption plants; however, some results indicate if there sporadic contamination indicators adsorption absorption, even low concentration watercourse moment evaluation. It necessary study bioremediation methods, tolerance, efficiencies each biological agent chosen. Abstract The 2030 Agenda, established in 2015, contains seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aimed at addressing global challenges. SDG-06, focused on clean water, drives the increase basic sanitation coverage, management of wastewater discharges, and water quality. Wastewater treatment could contribute to achieving 11 17 SDGs. For this purpose, phytoremediation is a low-cost adaptable alternative reduction control aquatic pollutants. objective study highlight role macrophytes removal degradation these compounds, focusing Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms, commonly known as hyacinth. reported values indicate that plant has capacity over 70% for metals such copper, aluminum, lead, mercury, cadmium, metalloids arsenic. Additionally, it significantly improves quality parameters turbidity, suspended solids, pH, dissolved oxygen, color. It also reduces presence phosphates, nitrogen compounds below 50%. plays significant organic contaminants pesticides, pharmaceuticals, dyes. This describes several valuable by-products from biomass hyacinth, including animal fish feed, energy generation (such briquettes), ethanol, biogas, composting.
