Abstract
Cantabria
Cohort
stems
from
a
research
and
action
initiative
lead
by
researchers
Valdecilla
Research
Institute
(IDIVAL),
Marqués
de
University
Hospital
of
Cantabria,
supported
the
regional
Goverment.
Its
aim
is
to
identify
follow
up
cohort
that
would
provide
information
improve
understanding
etiology
prognosis
different
acute
chronic
diseases.
The
will
recruit
between
40,000–50,000
residents
aged
40–69
years
at
baseline,
representing
10–20%
target
population.
Currently,
more
than
30,000
volunteers
have
been
enrolled.
All
participants
be
invited
for
re-assessment
every
three
years,
while
overall
duration
planned
twenty
years.
repeated
collection
biomaterials
combined
with
broad
participant
questionnaires,
medical
examinations,
actual
health
system
records
other
secondary
public
data
sources
major
strength
its
design,
which
make
it
possible
address
biological
pathways
disease
development,
new
factors
involved
in
disease,
design
strategies

Abstract
Autoantibodies
are
the
hallmark
of
autoimmunity,
and
specifically,
antinuclear
antibodies
(ANA)
one
most
relevant
present
in
systemic
autoimmune
diseases
(AID).
In
study,
we
evaluate
relationship
between
ANA
sociodemographic
biobehavioral
factors
a
population
with
low
pre-test
probability
for
AID.
were
determined
serum
samples
at
baseline
visit
from
2997
participants
Camargo
Cohort
using
indirect
immunofluorescence
assay,
two
solid
phase
assays
(SPA),
addressable
laser
bead
immunoassay,
fluorescence
enzyme
immunoassay.
Sociodemographic
features
subjects
obtained
structured
questionnaire.
The
prevalence
positive
results
was
significantly
higher
when
assay
used
as
screening
method
comparison
SPAs,
being
females,
older
subjects,
those
C-reactive
protein
levels.
Considering
features,
individuals
sedentary
lifestyle,
ex-
non-alcohol
users.
Moreover,
considering
relevance
antibody
load
Screen,
also
increased
age,
especially
females.
