Abstract Historic districts play an important role in urban planning and protection. While previous research on soundscapes has focused acoustic comfort or preferences these districts, the aspect of authenticity been somewhat overlooked. Therefore, this study proposes a methodology for constructing that enhance such districts. Using grounded theory approach, we identified four key components enhancing via soundscapes: aim soundscape design, physical cultural characteristics soundscapes, effects influence spatial soundscapes. A theoretical framework was developed to illustrate enhancement historic To verify applicability advancement proposed framework, it compared with methodologies steps obtained from This underscores significance design creating thereby contributing development offering sustainable solutions protection renewal heritage.
