The Effectiveness of Physical Education Classes Through Collaborative Learning Methods for the Physical Development of 11th-Grade Students in Vietnam

Abstract
Introduction.
Collaborative
Learning
(CL)
is
a
group
learning
method
that
involves
mutual
support
and
assistance
among
individual
students
to
achieve
goals.
The
purpose
of
this
study
assess
the
effectiveness
14-week
Physical
Education
(PE)
class
using
CL
in
enhancing
physical
development
11th-grade
students.
Material
Methods.
Eighty
healthy
were
randomly
selected
divided
into
two
groups:
experimental
with
40
applying
PE
classes,
control
studying
conventional
methods.
In
study,
five
fitness
tests
used
such
as
30-s
sit-up
test,
30-m
sprint
4
×
10-m
shuttle
run
standing
long
jump
5-min
running
field
test.
Results.
After
14
weeks
experimentation,
independent
t-test
results
indicated
significant
difference
mean
values
between
groups
at
threshold
p
<
0.05.
Paired
for
before
after
experiment
both
also
showed
difference,
growth
rate
being
higher
than
group.
Particularly,
exhibited
post-experiment
value
had
negative
significance.
Conclusions.
This
