Information and communication technology (ICT) offers promising opportunities to address global sustainability challenges such as climate change social inequality by enabling energy savings innovations. At the same time, ICT threatens exacerbate these crises, evident in increasing consumption of resources widening digital inequalities. As one enablers ICT, software engineering plays a key role tackle problems explore potentials for sustainability. However, is still niche topic, with little structure, limited understanding few comprehensive strategies. In this paper, we introduce main concepts sustainable engineering, critically review state research identify seven future across all areas. We further present our vision – sustainability-driven transdisciplinary formats outline roadmap steps be achieved 2030.
