Abstract This study explored the relationship between childhood trauma and sex addiction among a sample of adult men ( N = 149). Thirty‐eight (25.5%) screened positive for addiction, whereas 111 (74.5%) did not. Using descriptive discriminant analysis, we found that four subscales early predicted risk group membership to varying degrees, accounting 22.3% variance explained. Sexual emotional abuse accounted most explained in differences, physical and, lesser extent, general also contributed differences. Implications findings are discussed.

Abstract Background and Aims This study addresses the scarcity of research on Compulsive Sexual Behavior Disorder (CSBD) in non-Western cultures women, exploring its prevalence, sociodemographic, sexual history characteristics, psychological health factors Iranian married women. Methods A cross-sectional involving 772 heterosexual women was conducted between 2022 2023, covering all 31 provinces Iran. Participants were categorized as CSBD+ (at-risk individuals) CSBD− (low-risk based a pre-established cut-off point ≥18 by Scale −7. Depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, self-esteem, distress, satisfaction, relationship dysfunction assessed variables standardized scales. Results The prevalence CSBD 3.8% Linear regression analysis showed that lower education, being jobless, substance use, pornography paraphilic behaviors, conflict sex frequency, relationship, orgasm dissatisfaction, higher arousal, depression, symptoms positively associated with CSBD. univariate analysis, at stringent significance level 0.005, mirrored findings. Additionally, exhibited religiousness anxiety compared to those without CSBD−. Discussion Conclusions Raising awareness is crucial for systems individuals better policy-making help-seeking behavior. Identifying risk like use presents opportunities prevention, association mental suggests addressing co-occurring issues improved treatment outcomes. Recognizing culture gender-specific correlates enables targeted effective approaches.

This study aims to examine how positive and negative metacognitions about sex (MSS) mediate the relationship between psychological distress problematic consumption of pornography. 821 individuals from Romania, aged 18-70 (M = 27.21; SD 8.74), 64.4% whom were women. Both MSS mediated link plays a crucial role in understanding dynamics The contributes filling gap literature by exploring this context. Theoretical practical implications are discussed.

Metacognitions about sex are theorized to shape cognitive appraisal, coping mechanisms, and regulation or dysregulation before, during, and/or after exposure sexual stimuli. In our study, we examined the construct structure validity of Sex Scale (MSS) among a sample adolescents. We estimated convergent MSS by factors: negative affect, dysregulated thoughts, impulsivity, compulsive behavior (CSB). also ran structural equation model in which possibility that metacognitions would mediate association between impulsivity on one hand, CSB other. The study population included 662 adolescents (252 boys 410 girls, M = 16.70, SD 1.32) 13–18 years age. analyses indicated factorial comprised two expected factors. found positive significantly mediated effect CSB. findings provide evidence Israeli psychometrically appropriate for use researchers practitioners prevention treatment

Since the inclusion of Compulsive Sexual Behavior Disorder (CSBD) in International Classification Diseases (11th ed.), there has been little effort placed into developing clinical recommendations for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer (LGBQ) clients with this condition. Thus, we develop preliminary mental health professionals working LGBQ who may be struggling CSBD.

Abstract Compulsive sexual behavior disorder (CSBD) was previously considered an attachment disorder, while emotion dysregulation thought to potentially be a key characteristic of it. However, this theoretical model not tested in previous empirical research. In our cross-sectional study, we whether emotional regulation (ER) difficulties can adopted as explanatory mechanism for the relationships between avoidance and anxiety, well CSBD its most prevalent behavioral presentation—problematic pornography use (PPU). Participants ( n = 1002; M age 50.49 years, SD 13.32; men: 50.2%) completed online survey regarding investigated variables. mediation analyses, anxiety were treated simultaneous predictors, ER mediating variable, with CSBD/PPU severity dependent Emotion had direct positive effect on both PPU. The PPU non-significant, significant depending measure used. Moreover, all insecure dimensions symptom at least partially mediated by difficulties. Our results corroborate claim that may useful framework explaining impact insecurity CSBD/PPU. Theoretical practical implications findings are discussed.
