Myotis is the most diverse genus of bats in Central America, with 10 species currently reported for Guatemala. Here, we present first record M. volans (H. Allen, 1866), and third auriculus Baker & Stains, 1955 Guatemala, both from cloud forest highlands Sierra de las Minas Biosphere Reserve. This new locality may serve as one southernmost habitats akin to North American ecosystems these two species. Our increases number Guatemala 105. findings underscore importance further research understand patterns biodiversity America.
