Abstract In treating slaughterhouse wastewater (SWW), conventional treatment processes (CTPs) such as anaerobic processes, membrane and electrocoagulation have various weaknesses, including limited effectiveness, fouling issues, high energy consumption. Conversely, photocatalytic advanced oxidation (PAOPs) demonstrated superiority over CTPs. However, the effectiveness of PAOPs significantly diminishes when SWW contains levels suspended solids (SS). This research explores feasibility pre‐treating synthetic (SSWW) using a novel yeast‐assisted dissolved air flotation (YADAF) process to reduce SS level. utilizes H 2 O catalase enzymes from inexpensive yeast, readily available in local markets. Under optimized conditions, this combination generates bubbles uplift particles flocs, which can then be removed via mechanical scraper before undergoing with UV/H /TiO PAOP under conditions. The enhanced yielded 93.75%, 83.23%, 94.35% reduction chemical oxygen demand (COD), 5‐day carbonaceous biochemical (CBOD 5 ), total (TSS), signifying increments 41.15%, 56.59%, 2867% COD, CBOD , TSS, respectively, compared alone, unenhanced. demonstrates that YADAF amplifies PAOP, making it viable pre‐treatment option complements latter SSWW. Practitioner Points Yeast‐assisted floatation is variant (DAF) capable removing TSS 15 min. On top that, combined (AOP), deliver used treat (SSWW). has never been field prove valuable addition ready implemented into current technologies.
