ABSTRACT Objective To identify groups of transgender women and travestis (TGW) with specific patterns gender-based discrimination (GBD) analyze the factors associated GBD. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted TGW recruited through respondent-driven sampling in five Brazilian cities (2019-2021). Latent class analysis used to characterize GBD (low, medium, high) using 14 observable variables. Descriptive performed, associations between predictor variables were estimated by adjusted odds ratios (aOR) ordinal logistic regression. ABSTRACT Objective: To understand the narratives of transgender women and travestis (TGW) from four Brazilian cities regarding access to use health services. Methods: Qualitative study carried out within scope TransOdara project, cross-sectional multicenter mixed methods research conducted between 2019-2021. Fifty-two in-depth interviews with TGW in Manaus, Campo Grande, Porto Alegre São Paulo were analyzed. The analysis was guided by philosophical hermeneutics. Results: Reports discrimination, stigmatization pathologization reiterate difficulties faced seeking healthcare. recurrence disrespect for social/corrected name reveals obstacles recognition identities and, some cases, intention inhibiting transsexuality-travestilidade. Other arise actions that disregard specificities or precarious social conditions affect them. On other hand, based on experiences respect adequate care, participants identify an ongoing change, which is expressed greater availability services improved assistance. ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the experiences of transgender women and travestis regarding use hormones for body changes without a medical prescription. Methods: This is cross-sectional, quantitative qualitative study, using data from “TransOdara”, which estimated prevalence Sexually Transmitted Infections in recruited through Respondent-Driven Sampling, between December 2019 July 2021, São Paulo, Campo Grande, Manaus, Porto Alegre, Salvador, Brazil. The main outcome was: prescription associated risk factors. Descriptive analysis, mixed univariate logistic regression models, semi-structured interviews were carried out. Results: Of 1,317 participants, 85.9% had already used hormones. current was reported by 40.7% (536) them. those who able to inform place where they obtained them, 72.6% (381/525) them variables with were: full-time sex work (OR 4.59; 95%CI 1.90–11.06) or past 1.92; 1.10–3.34), not having changed their name 3.59; 2.23–5.76), currently studying 1.83; 1.07–3.13), being younger 2.16; 1.31–3.56), suffered discrimination at some point life 0.40; 0.20–0.81). ABSTRACT Objective To describe the prevalence, characteristics, and factors associated with sexual violence in transgender women travestis (TGW) Brazil. Methods This cross-sectional study was conducted five Brazilian cities (Campo Grande, Manaus, Porto Alegre, Salvador, São Paulo) between 2019 2021. Participants were recruited using respondent-driven sampling (RDS) technique. The outcome of interest is self-reported experience throughout respondents’ lifetime. We evaluated actions taken by victims how they dealt experience. Logistic regression analysis employed to examine associations sociodemographic behavioral (such as race, income, drug use, sex work, access healthcare) outcome. Results A total 1,317 TGW interviewed. Among them, 53% (n=698) reported experiencing violence. For 64.4% (n=419) respondents, occurred on more than one occasion. majority did not seek health services (93.2%, n=648), disclose (93.9%, n=653), nor support from family or friends (86.5%, n=601). higher prevalence homelessness (adjusted ratio — aPR=1.69, 95% confidence interval 95%CI 1.01–2.84), a history engaging work (aPR=2.04, 1.46–2.85), self-reporting regular, bad, very bad emotional (aPR=1.67, 1.28–2.19), difficulties accessing previous year (aPR=2.78, 1.74–4.43). Conclusion high violence, analyzed together victims, indicates context vulnerability low institutional support. In this scenario, can be exacerbated, resulting severe consequences.
