Mosquito-borne

mosquito

we
show
the
impact
of
sugar
on
humidity
preference
and
survival
Aedes
aegypti
(Gainesville)
Culex
pipiens
(Buckeye).
Two-choice
assays
with
high
low
relative
(80%
50%
RH)
that
species-specific.
In
comparison
Cx.
pipiens,
various
resulted
marked
reductions
avidity
Ae.
aegypti,
which
exhibited
significant
differences.
Among
diets,
arabinose
significantly
reduced
rate
mosquitoes
at
concentrations.
Moreover,
found
host
landing
was
not
impacted
by
feeding
different
types.
Our
study
suggests
specific
treatments
could
be
applied
control
dampening

Abstract
Non-nutritive
sugars
such
as
erythritol
and
sucralose
are
active
ingredients
in
artificial
sweeteners.
In
the
past
decade,
research
has
demonstrated
insecticidal
properties
of
non-nutritive
across
several
arthropod
species.
It
is
now
a
prospective
chemical
control
option
for
spotted-wing
drosophila,
Drosophila
suzukii,
one
most
economically
important
pests
small
fruits.
D.
suzukii
die
quicker,
excrete
waste
large
amounts,
become
desiccated
when
fed
mixture
sucralose.
The
toxicity
to
fly
not
clearly
elucidated
but
likely
due
nutritional
physiological
failures

with

Abstract
BACKGROUND
Spotted‐wing

pest

small
fruits
and
cherries.
Insecticides
