Purpose
This
study

Abstract
Borderline
personality
disorder
(BPD)
is
a
dysfunctional,
stable,
and
pervasive
alteration
in
functioning
with
the
inability
to
adapt
environment,
mental
rigidity,
ego‐syntonic.
High
suicidality
BPD
patients
underlines
significance
of
research
into
its
pathology.
While
extensive
on
psychological
behavioral
manifestations
can
be
found
literature,
neuropsychological
aspects
are
still
partially
unknown,
although
roles
certain
brain
structures
manifestation
pathology,
such
as
amygdala,
hippocampus,
insula,
medial
prefrontal
cingulate
cortices,
nucleus
accumbens,
temporo‐occipital
areas,
have
already
been
clarified.
This
review
aims
synthesize
current
knowledge
neuroanatomical
functional
correlates
BPD,
providing
insights
that
may
inform
future
therapeutic
strategies.
