Purpose This study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis of global publications on the application artificial intelligence (AI) in high myopia (HM). Methods We retrieved AI HM from Web Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database, MEDLINE and Chinese Citation Database (CSCD) with data up 2024. The focused publication citation trends, identifying key articles, influential countries, institutions, authors, journals. Additionally, we explored research domains emerging keywords. Results A total 167 relevant were included. first AI-related paper was published 2017, significant surge 2021, followed by consistent increase counts over next 3 years. China emerged as most productive country, extensive international collaboration. East Asian authors dominated top 10 authors. Yang, Weihua Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual (IOVS) contributed among respectively. Keyword revealed that retinal imaging-related terms remained focus, while newly keywords included “automated detection” “childhood.” Conclusion Recent advancements applications for have been are expected continue. Future will likely focus multimodal imaging improving algorithm accessibility. Our findings offered comprehensive overview HM, thus providing valuable insights researchers understand current status future trends this field.

Aim To quantitatively analyze the relationship between spherical equivalent refraction (SER) and retinal vascular changes in school-age children with refractive error by applying fundus photography combined artificial intelligence (AI) technology explore structural vasculature these children. Methods We conducted a retrospective case–control study, collecting data on 113 cases involving 226 eyes of schoolchildren aged 6–12 years who attended outpatient clinics our hospital October 2021 May 2022. Based refraction, we categorized participants into four groups: 66 low myopia group, 60 intermediate 50 high control group. All underwent series examinations, including naked-eye best-corrected visual acuity, cycloplegic intraocular pressure measurement, ocular axial measurement (AL), color photography. Using photography, analyzed arteriovenous ratio (AVR), average curvature, density AI technology. Data were using χ 2 test one-way analysis variance. Results The AVR moderate group 0.80 ± 0.05, 0.04, 0.76 0.79 respectively, vessel densities 0.1024 0.0076, 0.0074, 0.0880 0.0126, 0.1037 0.0143, respectively difference was statistically significant compared to other three groups ( p < 0.05). Linear correlation showed strong negative axis r = −0.874, 0001), positive 0.527, −0.452, 0001). Conclusion Schoolchildren decreased vasculature. may be early predictors progression.

Objective In the past 20 years, research application of anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) in field glaucoma has become a hot topic, but there is still lack bibliometric reports on this scientific field. The aim study to explore hotspots and trends using methods. Method Analyzing literature from 2004 2023 AS-OCT within SCI database, utilized Bibliometric, VOS viewer, Cite Space for comprehensive analysis covering document counts, countries, institutions, journals, authors, references, keywords. Results A total 931 eligible articles were collected, showing continuous increase annual output over years. United States, China, Singapore top three countries terms publication volume, with 288, 231, 124 articles, respectively, was close cooperation among these countries. NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SINGAPORE, SUN YAT SEN UNIVERSITY, SINGAPORE EYE CENTRE most productive institutions 93, 92, 87 respectively. JOURNAL GLAUCOMA, INVESTIGATIVE OPHTHALMOLOGY & VISUAL SCIENCE, journals highest number publications, 86, 69, 46 PROGRESS IN RETINAL AND RESEARCH, published top-cited journal. Researchers Aung Tin, He Mingguang, David S. Friedman highlighted their contributions. reference clustering divided into 12 categories, which “deep learning, segment” cited categories. keywords frontiers include deep classification, progression, management. Conclusion This article analyses academic publications diagnosis treatment last Among them, States contributed largest field, citations mediated centrality. prolific aung, tin topped list 77 3,428 citations. Since beginning 2018, advances artificial intelligence have shifted focus manual measurements automated detection identification relevant indicators.
