Abstract Objective: To identify potential genetic risk factors for sleep disorders (SD) and to explore the causal associations between lifestyle clinical features with SD, given limitations of traditional observational studies. Methods: Data from published genome-wide association studies (GWAS) were analyzed, encompassing 34 17 as exposures influencing SD. These analyses yielded information on 51 4 outcomes. Outcomes consisted four categories: non-organic (NSD), narcolepsy, rapid eye movement (REM) behavior (RSBD), obstructive apnea (OSA). All variables exposure outcome derived individuals European ancestry. Two-sample MR analysis was conducted, inverse variance weighted (IVW) primary method evaluating effects. Weighted median estimation (WME), MR-Egger (MRE), simple mode (SM), (WM) used supplementary evaluation methods. Results: (1) The protective causally associated NSD include overall physical activity time (OR: 0.35; 95%CI: 0.13-0.99; P=0.048) fresh fruit intake 0.30; 0.12-0.75; P=0.010). This study aimed to investigate the association of vascular aging and left ventricular geometry in OSAHS-related hypertension population with good blood pressure control. A retrospective was conducted at Third Xiangya Hospital, collecting data from patients admitted between August 1, 2022, January 2024. Vascular parameters were collected, including ankle-brachial index (ABI), brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV), carotid intima-media thickness (cIMT). Left mass (LVMI), relative wall (RWT), hypertrophy (LVH), concentric (LVCG) collected assess patterns. Spearman correlation analysis, generalized linear regression, logistic regression used associations geometry. total 238 included. Significant positive correlations found baPWV LVMI (Rs = 0.26, P < 0.001), RWT 0.37, cIMT 0.24, 0.34, 0.001). Generalized model indicated that both (β 0.84, 0.01 for LVMI; β 0.005, 0.001 RWT) 27.54, 0.13, associated RWT, respectively. Logistic revealed (OR 1.08, 95%CI 1.02-1.15) 1.30, 1.06-1.60) LVH. 1.44, 1.28-1.65) 1.54, 1.21-1.96) also showed LVCG. Subgroup analyses based on gender BMI suggested results robust. may be changes hypertension.

Prior research has shown potential changes in cytokine and growth factor levels patients with urinary stones, but the causal relationship remains uncertain. The purpose of this study was to investigate between tract stones. This used a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) 41 circulating cytokines factors datasets alongside stone disease (USD) data. It employed various analytical methods including inverse variance weighted (IVW) analysis, maximum likelihood estimation, MR-Egger regression, median approach, simple method, mode establish relationships. Sensitivity analysis included regression intercept test Cochrane's Q statistic. Using IVW an increase stem cell β associated decreased risk [odds ratio (OR) =0.9990; 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.9980-0.9999; P=0.04]. Conversely, interleukin-18 elevated stones (OR =1.0012; CI: 1.0002-1.0022; P=0.01). Various consistently supported these findings. Our findings suggest unidirectional interleukin-18, factors, USD. indicates that may actively contribute development or prevention USD, offering new avenue for clinical intervention based on modulation.

Oral cancer is a common malignant tumor, and its incidence has steadily increased in recent years. Sleep disturbances, including insomnia obstructive sleep apnea, are prevalent among patients with oral significantly impact their quality of life. Emerging research suggests bidirectional relationship between disorders. This article reviews how induces or exacerbates disorders, particularly apnea (OSA), through factors such as pain, psychological stress, treatment-related side effects (e.g., upper airway damage caused by chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgical interventions). Furthermore, it analyzes disorders may promote progression via chronic inflammation, intermittent hypoxia, oxidative disruption circadian rhythms. By elucidating these interactions, this review provides theoretical foundation for optimizing clinical treatment plans holistic understanding shared pathophysiological mechanisms.

Abstract Study Objectives The purpose of this systematic review is to evaluate the modifiable risk factors associated with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and analyze extant publications solely focused on prevention disease. Methods Studies strategies for OSA were eligible inclusion. A detailed individual search strategy each following bibliographic databases was developed: Cochrane, EMBASE, MEDLINE, PubMed, LILACS. references cited in these articles also crosschecked a partial gray literature undertaken using Google Scholar. methodology selected studies evaluated 14-item Quality Assessment Tool Diagnostic Accuracy Studies. Results Search resulted 720 examining OSA, as well lifestyle modifications. Of these, thorough assessment abstracts content manuscripts led rejection all but four papers, latter being included review. In contrast, regarding “Therapeutics” showed that 23 674 published, clearly illustrating imbalance between efforts those therapeutics. Conclusions Notwithstanding importance benefits technological advances medicine, consideration needs people its consequences prompts advocacy Thus, despite economic interests focus only diagnosis treatment, preferentially aimed at overall avoidance emerge major priority. public healthcare provider education, multidimensional prevention, early should be encouraged worldwide.

Previous observational studies have shown a correlation between leisure sedentary behaviors (LSB) and physical activity (PA) with the incidence of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). However, causal associations remain unknown. Therefore, our study used bidirectional two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) to identify potential relationships LSB/PA OSA.

Abstract Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a prevalent disorder significantly impacting health and quality of life. This study investigates the association between lifestyle assessment tool, Life's Essential 8 (LE8) score, OSA. Utilizing data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (2005–2008, 2015–2018), we evaluated whether LE8 an indicator cardiovascular health, predicts OSA risk. scores are categorized into low, moderate, high levels, representing healthiness. Employing logistic regression, restricted cubic splines, weighted quantile sum found that higher correspond to lower risk: moderate score groups exhibited 46% 76% reduced risk, respectively. Additionally, nonlinear dose-response relationship was observed, factors such as BMI tobacco exposure emerged critical risk elements. The results underscore value practical tool for assessing reinforce role healthy living in its mitigation. These insights can form foundation public strategies aimed at decreasing prevalence through promotion healthier lifestyles.
