ABSTRACT We examined changes in large-scale functional connectivity and temporal dynamics their underlying mechanisms schizophrenia (ScZ) through measurements of resting-state magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) data computational modelling. The rs-fMRI from patients with chronic ScZ (n=38) matched healthy controls (n=43), were obtained the public schizConnect repository. Computational models constructed based on diffusion-weighted MRI scans fit to experimental data. found decreased across sensory association areas for all subnetworks group. Additionally global synchrony was reduced while metastability unaltered. Perturbations model revealed that coupling increased background noise levels both explained experimentally deficits better than local GABAergic or glutamatergic system. current study suggests alterations are more likely result rather network changes.

Entropy management, central to the Free Energy Principle, requires a process that temporarily shifts brain activity toward states of lower or higher entropy. Metastable synchronization is by which system achieves entropy fluctuations intermittently transitioning between collective order and disorder. Previous work has shown oscillations, similar those recorded from brain, emerge spontaneously weakly stable in critically coupled oscillator systems. However, direct evidence linking formation oscillations lacking. In this short communication, we demonstrate how emergence Oscillatory Modes (MOMs) directly associated with temporary reduction ongoing dynamics. We apply Shannon distribution eigenvalues phase covariance over sliding time windows, capturing temporal evolution at level entire dynamical system. By demonstrating MOMs impacts system’s levels, bridge theoretical works on physics oscillators FEP framework, supporting hypothesis rhythms experimentally are signature management.

There is such a vast proliferation of scientific theories consciousness that it worrying some scholars. are even competitions to test different theories, and the results inconclusive. Consciousness research, far from converging toward unifying framework, becoming more discordant than ever, especially with respect theoretical elements do not have clear neurobiological basis. Rather duelling an integration across needed tofacilitate comprehensive view on how normal nervous system dynamics can develop into pathological states. In dealing what considered extremely complex matter, we try adopt perspective which subject appears in relative simplicity. Grounded experimental observations, advance encompassing biophysical theory, MaxCon, incorporates aspects several main existing neuroscientific finding convergence points attempt simplify understand cellular collective activity organized fulfill dynamic requirements diverse our proposal comprises. Moreover, computable index indicating level presented. Derived description interactions among cell networks, highlights association maximisation number configurations neural network connections -constrained by neuroanatomy, biophysics environment― common all theories.
