Interpolyelectrolyte complexes Eudragit® EPO/L100 received in different pH were characterized by degree of swelling mimicking fasted stomach medium (0.1 M HCl) and saved their shape during 6 hours the experiment. The microenvironmental changes IPECs structure testing inves-tigated using FT-IR spectroscopy, thermal elemental analysis. Both samples transformed to a similar with approximately same composition. IPEC showed bioadhesive properties that was not significantly from positive control (Carbopol) test mucin compacts. release rate metronidazole (class I BCS) matrices increased increasing swelling. 1 provided 49.62 ± 6.20% 2 – 87.69 5.15 % after HCl). Total amount released acyclovir III 25.76 5.67 21.48 5.00 %. Release both drugs controlled relaxation polymeric chains according Peppas-Sahlin model. According results, investigated interpolymer are perspective for further evalua-tion as carriers gastroretentive systems.
