Scientific studies on the impact of wood species solid fuel production, performance, and sustainability are grossly inadequate. The knowledge this is imperative as users fuels increasing rapidly, especially in Africa. On note, it becomes necessary to explore measures that will improve its efficiency an energy source. This study investigates some properties selected used source Nigeria their pelleting potential. Nine (9) samples were characterized assessed for suitability following four pellet quality standards. findings revealed Anogeissus leiocarpus with best rating score terms while Vitellaria paradoxa lowest. However, conformity pellets standards, Khaya senegalensis, Parkia biglobosa having presented density, calorific value, sulfur, arsenic, cadmium, lead within limits standards considered therefore suggest not all suitable fuel. Thus, do meet standard requirements, alternatives such use biomass blends, additives, or process adjustments can be employed adapt by using improved cookstoves.
