Background: Generative artificial intelligence (Gen-AI) has emerged as a transformative tool in research and education. However, there is mixed perception about its use. This study assessed the use, perception, prospect, challenges of Gen-AI use higher Methods: prospective, cross-sectional survey university students United Kingdom (UK) distributed online between January April 2024. The current study examined university students’ insights into generative AI writing tools regarding their familiarity with, perceived concerns about, and benefits of these in academic work. used a cross-sectional descriptive research design, data were collected using questionnaire instrument. participants ninety-five undergraduate graduate students from College Education at Jordan. results show that moderate with (M = 3.14, SD 0.81), especially engagement but lacking technical knowledge. Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a key factor in higher education, revolutionizing both teaching methods and student learning. This study aimed to identify the perceptions of university students professors on use AI academic education. A descriptive with quantitative approach was conducted using deductive method Likert scale questionnaire. The results revealed predominantly low perception teaching, 71.5% 73.1% expressing skepticism about its application. Additionally, 59% 65.9% evaluated impact learning process unfavorably, indicating concerns effectiveness enhancing Ethical privacy considerations showed contrast, 84% displaying high confidence while 73.2% maintaining moderate trust. These findings highlight gap lack assessing AI, emphasizing urgent need for training programs, comprehensive policies, evaluation methodologies. Addressing these is crucial harnessing AI’s potential education preparing an increasingly digitized environment.
