Cisgender women living with HIV experience elevated cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk that increases age, a concern given extended life expectancies for people HIV. The CVD disparity among cisgender aging is understudied and remains unclear. Taking psychoneuroimmunology approach, this group's intersecting marginalized identities, one potential driver of the intersectional stigma. Yet not all have coronary artery (CAD). Resilience to stigma may serve as protective factor CAD, observed in other health issues. This study aimed explore relationship between stigma, resilience, "traditional" factors, objective indicators CAD A diverse sample (aged ≥ 35, N = 48) completed cross-sectional survey, clinical interview, blood sample, pressure, anthropometric measurements, computed tomography angiography (CTA). CART-based machine learning models assessed statistical importance traditional resilience classifying individuals stenosis, calcification, inflammatory markers associated CAD. Of n 31 who CTA, 74% had detectable calcification 39% stenosis. Intersectional was identified an important variable explaining but sCD163, biomarker Results show pathway group. Importance Despite aging-related comorbidities representing a growing threat to quality-of-life and mortality among persons with HIV (PWH), clinical guidance for comorbidity screening prevention is lacking. Understanding distribution severity by sex gender essential informing guidelines promoting healthy aging in adults HIV. Objective To assess the association of human immunodeficiency virus on burden US modern treatment era. Design, Setting, Participants This cross-sectional analysis included data from multisite observational cohort studies women (Women’s Interagency Study) men (Multicenter AIDS Cohort sociodemographically comparable HIV-seronegative individuals. were prospectively followed 2008 2009 (when more than 80% participants reported antiretroviral therapy use) through last observation up until March 2019, at which point outcomes assessed. Data analyzed July 2020 April 2021. Exposures HIV, age, sex. Main Outcomes Measures Comorbidity (the number total out 10 assessed) per participant; secondary individual prevalence. Linear regression assessed status, burden. Results A 5929 individuals (median [IQR] 54 [46-61] years; 3238 [55%]; 2787 Black [47%], 1153 Hispanic or other [19%], 1989 White [34%]). Mediation analysis provides a more flexible mechanistic view of the causal relationship between HIV-related factors and cardiometabolic diseases. However, there is limited evidence on how mediation implemented in this specific research area. We aimed to describe frameworks used examine these analyses are conducted reported studies focusing outcomes among people living with HIV (PLWH). Following PRISMA 2020 Guidelines, we comprehensively searched Medline, CINAHL, Africa-Wide Information SCOPUS identify observational that employed before October 2023. Two reviewers independently screened for eligibility. One reviewer performed data extraction, two others reviewed extracted information. Nine met inclusion criteria, predominantly effects weight obesity-related serostatus, ART, outcomes. The review revealed diverse application both traditional frameworks. inconsistencies gaps reporting were noted, particularly handling missing data, detailing identifiability assumptions, use sensitivity analyses. While some risks PLWH have embraced frameworks, their overall remains limited. In addition, identified notable practices. To advance field, researchers should not only integrate rigorous methods but also closely follow established guidelines, such as AGReMA Statement, ensure greater transparency, reliability, impact future research.

We sought to determine how intersectional stigma, operationalized by interactions of perceived stigma experiences in adulthood attributed various social identities/characteristics (age, gender, race, ethnicity/nationality, religion, height/weight, other aspect appearance [unrelated the listed-e.g. height/weight/race/gender], physical disability, sexual orientation, and HIV status), associates with clinically significant depressive symptoms (DS). used data from Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study (Baltimore/Washington, DC; Chicago; Pittsburgh/Columbus; Los Angeles) on 1,385 minority men (SMM), collected April 1, 2008-March 31, 2009. Classification trees predicted DS. An exploratory factor analysis (EFA) identified stigmas that tended co-occur. calculated decomposed joint disparity DS risk between comprising each EFA factor. Thirty-four percent were classified Stigma was most commonly orientation. Participants multiple had an increased In classification trees, covariates (especially income) stronger predictors than stigmas. Intersectional effects observed disability (positive effect), race ethnicity/nationality orientation status (negative effects). Interventions reduce among SMM, as well improve socioeconomic position SMM general, are needed.

An intersectional approach to health research provides an analytical foundation explain the multidimensionality of status, resource accessibility, privilege, oppression, and current historical context. The use intersectionality in has known limitations. Its health-related fields too often focuses on outcomes, such as disparities, rather than processes, power structures social determinants. This scoping review serves examine how been implemented by nurses peer-reviewed literature. We offer insight into it may be incorporated inform future nursing healthcare provision. Systematic searches PubMed (n=257), SCOPUS (n=807), EMBASE (n=396), CINAHL (n=224), Health Source: Nursing Academics (n=491), published since seminal publication (1989 - 2023), identified 131 articles that met inclusion exclusion criteria. Data extraction synthesis were used describe breadth depth literature specific application research. included studies intersections numerous identities, race, gender, immigration status. However, most descriptive/observational nature, underreported their methods, conducted deficit-based instead strength-based inquiries. Of note, vast majority within last five years. Future researchers using a framework can improve reporting clear definitions operationalization intersectionality. Observational science dominated studies; should focus intervention development evaluation lens. Lastly, caution placed solely deficits among marginalized communities, which places scientists at risk perpetuating stereotypes or enhancing already-existing stigmas. Introduction The increasing burden of non-communicable diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidaemia, presents key challenges to achieving optimal HIV care outcomes among ageing people living with HIV. These diseases are often comorbid exacerbated by psychosocial structural inequities. This interaction multiple health conditions social factors is referred a syndemic. In the USA, there substantial disparities position (ie, racial, ethnic socioeconomic status) in prevalence and/or control Intersecting stigmas, racism, classism homophobia, may drive these contributing healthcare avoidance syndemic (stress, depression, violence victimisation substance use), reducing success along disease continua care. Our hypothesis that marginalised populations experience incidence, control, mediated intersectional stigma Methods analysis Collecting data over 4 year period, we will recruit sexual minority men (planned n=1800) enrolled MACS/WIHS Combined Cohort Study, long-standing mixed-serostatus observational cohort investigate following specific aims: (1) assess relationships between position, middle-aged men, (2) incidence (3) outcomes, Analyses be conducted using generalised equation models cross-lagged panel model design.
