Objective: To examine the association between local health department (LHD) accreditation and COVID-19 community outcomes, including rates of adult vaccination, hospitalization, death. Design: We examined county level death by LHD status over course COVID pandemic. Additional independent variables included time period, Community Vulnerability Index (CCVI), state public governance structure, policy environment. used hierarchal linear mixed modeling with random intercept for data to account repeated observations fixed effects all other variables.
