Objective Veterans can present at nongovernment (Department of Defense, Department Affairs) mental health agencies with complex symptom constellations that frequently include posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, and generalized anxiety. To date, no veteran study has validated these measures on a treatment-seeking sample veterans outside the DoD VA. Methods We used ( N = 493) to validate assess constructs (PTSD Checklist 5, Patient Health Questionnaire-9, Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7). Results The seven-factor disorder hybrid configuration was best fit. fitting model depression measure two-factor structure, cognitive-affective, somatic depression. anxiety unidimensional model. Limitations Follow-up studies should nontreatment-seeking discharged veterans. Conclusions interpret findings within scholarship explore clinical implications for providers.
