Navigating vaccination in pregnancy: Qualitative study in 21 ethnically diverse pregnant women

Vaccination
during
pregnancy
is
crucial
for
safeguarding
maternal
and
neonatal
health,
but
vaccination
rates
remain
suboptimal,
especially
in
women
from
Black
Asian
ethnic
minorities.
We
explored
the
perspectives
decision-making
processes
of
pregnant
regarding
uptake
three
recommended
vaccines
pregnancy:
Influenza,
Pertussis
(whooping
cough)
COVID-19.

attitudes
to
taking
part
vaccine
trials
use
artificial
intelligence
(AI)
obtain
information
on
vaccines.

we
conducted
in-depth
telephone
interviews
with
ethnically
diverse
Greater
London
area
using
convenience
snowball
sampling.

participants'
views
pregnancy,
participation
trials,
information-seeking
behaviours,
emerging
technologies
health
information.
Interviews
were
transcribed
verbatim
thematically
analysed.

Maternal
