Abstract Background Physical activity and rest patterns among adolescents significantly impact their health development. However, there is a lack of validated tools to measure motivation states for physical in Arabic-speaking populations. This study aimed validate both the 9-item single-item versions Cravings Rest Volitional Energy Expenditure (CRAVE) scale Arabic evaluate its psychometric properties. Methods A cross-sectional was conducted Lebanese using an online survey. The CRAVE translated following international guidelines. Confirmatory factor analysis performed assess scale's structure. Internal consistency evaluated McDonald's ω Cronbach's α. Gender invariance tested, concurrent validity examined through correlations with measures depression, anxiety, stress, insomnia. Results total 600 (mean age 15.94 ± 1.72 years, 59.2% females) completed two-factor model showed good fit indices (RMSEA = .086, SRMR .061, CFI .975, TLI .966) excellent internal move (ω .96) .92) subscales. Measurement established across genders, no significant differences scores between males females. Higher Move desires were associated lower levels depression (r − .17), anxiety .18), stress .08), insomnia .14), while higher positive these variables. Both demonstrated strong properties adaptation, though optimal indicators varied culturally. Conclusion version scale, formats, demonstrates reliability measuring adolescents. validation provides valuable tool research clinical applications populations, enabling better assessment understanding this demographic.

The Depression Anxiety Stress Scale for Youth (DASS-Y) is a self-report instrument recently developed to evaluate negative emotional states in children and adolescents. However, the Persian version's factor structure psychometric properties have yet be investigated Iranian youth. study aimed assess reliability of DASS-Y sample recruited 1,277 adolescents, 703 (55.1%) being girls 574 (44.9%) boys (aged 7-18 years), from schools Tehran, Iran. Confirmatory analysis (CFA) was conducted structural validity test fit three-factor models. Internal consistency examined using Cronbach's alpha McDonald's omega coefficients total subscale items. Convergent discriminant were also assessed. CFA results supported original 3-factor DASS-Y, consisting Depression, Anxiety, subscales both groups Subsequently, Pearson correlation coefficient assessed scale's convergent validity, which relatively appropriate. Also, DASS-Y's internal satisfactory. reliable valid Instrument measuring depression, anxiety, stress It can helpful research clinical work, helping psychological distress
