The growing restrictive abortion policies nationwide and the Supreme Court decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization place increasing barriers to access in United States. These restrictions disproportionately affect low-income people of color, immigrants, non-English speakers, have potential exacerbate already existing racial inequities maternal neonatal outcomes. The U.S. Supreme Court’s 2015 ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges made same-sex marriage legal all states. Previous literature explores the effects of early legalization on several outcomes including mortgage demand but it is unclear whether itself affected demand.
