<b><i>Background:</i></b> Bright light treatment is a therapeutic intervention mainly used to treat sleep and circadian disturbances in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) patients. Recently, handful of studies also focused on the effect cognition behavior. Conflicting findings are reported literature, no definite conclusions have been drawn about its specific effect. <b><i>Summary:</i></b> The aim this review provide critical evaluation available evidence field, highlighting characteristics effective bright treatment. The objective of this study was to compare the effects a multisensory stimulation environment (MSSE) and individualized music sessions on agitation, emotional cognitive status, dementia severity in sample institutionalized patients with severe dementia. Twenty-two participants diagnosis or very were randomly assigned two groups: MSSE sessions. Both groups participated 30-min weekly over 16 weeks. Outcomes agitation (Cohen-Mansfield Agitation Inventory, CMAI), mood (Cornell Scale for Depression Dementia, CSDD), anxiety (Rating Anxiety RAID), function (Severe Mini-Mental State Examination, SMMSE), overall (Bedford Alzheimer Nursing Severity Scale, BANS-S).
