Background At present, stroke ranks as the third leading cause of mortality, and hypertension is a major risk factor for stroke. Complementary assessment inflammation level, immunity, nutritional status now possible using newly developed C-reactive protein-albumin-lymphocyte (CALLY) index biomarker. One key concern in this study that its correlation with individuals hypertensiveness. Methods In study, we used cross-sectional analyses from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) database through 2003 to 2010. The CALLY was calculated by albumin lymphocytes divided protein (CRP). order further analysis, log-transformed increase data normality lessen impact extreme values on analytical findings. We investigated odds ratios confidence intervals ln components connection people hypertension. A weighted multivariable logistic regression model carried out. Additionally, restricted cubic splines (RCS) subgroup examine association between prevalence hypertensive individuals. Results This included 8,146 participants, whom 616 participants had unadjusted modeling, found 39% reduction incidence population highest quartile group (OR 0.61, 95% CI 0.46–0.82), negative remained significant after adjustment confounders. While ALB showed robust protective people, greater levels linked decreased 0.50, 0.37–0.68), also discovered positive CRP 1.13, 1.04–1.22). substantial validated analysis. sample strong linear connection, according spline Conclusion There patients U.S. adults. may be potential indicator early identification at higher provide clinical intervention.

Evidence regarding the C-reactive protein‒albumin‒lymphocyte (CALLY) index and mortality risk in individuals with cardiovascular disease (CVD) is scarce. This study investigated relationships of CALLY all-cause CVD patients among American adults. enrolled 2183 from five NHANES cycles (2001-2010), outcomes were determined by linking data to National Death Index (NDI) records up December 31, 2019. Weighted multivariate Cox regression models subgroup analyses performed assess associations mortality. A restricted cubic spline (RCS) was used visualize association risk. During a median follow-up 122 months (interquartile range, 71-157 months), 1208 (weighted percentage, 49.62%) died, including 398 24.85%) deaths 810 75.15%) noncardiovascular deaths. revealed an inverse correlation between after adjusting for covariates. Compared lower index, those higher had significantly both (HR 0.58, 95% CI: 0.48, 0.71, p < 0.001) 0.54, 0.38, 0.76, 0.001). The RCS analysis nonlinear (p 0.05 nonlinearity) patients. consistent regardless age, sex, income, education level, race, smoking status, diabetes, hypertension (all values interactions > 0.05). An increased independently associated decreased

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is marked by restrictions on airflow, leading to a gradual and irreversible reduction in lung function. This study assessed the predictive value of hematological inflammatory biomarkers, specifically C-reactive protein-albumin-lymphocyte (CALLY) index protein lymphocyte ratio (CLR), for determining COPD risk United States adults aged 40 above. Data were sourced from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) covering period 2017 March 2020. The relationship between markers, including CALLY index, CLR, their components, was using multivariate logistic regression. Subgroup analyses explored COPD, while restricted cubic spline (RCS) evaluated potential non-linearity. performance these biomarkers receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. After controlling confounders, every one-unit increase (converted natural logarithm), prevalence decreased 19% (OR = 0.81, 95% CI: 0.71-0.92, P 0.001). Conversely, CLR increased 23% 1.23, 1.08-1.40, < linear negative correlation demonstrated RCS curves, exhibited positive association. being fully adjusted, both yielded an adjusted area under (AUC) 0.831 predicting demonstrating excellent capability. identifies unaffected confounders. A higher linked elevated development. Both superior developing COPD. Our findings emphasize that may be new early warning biomarker
