The impact of COVID-19 lockdown on glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the effects measures metabolic parameters DM, particular emphasis geriatric populations. In this retrospective, longitudinal cohort study, 1224 were analyzed. Three periods identified examine lockdown: pre-lockdown, lockdown, and post-lockdown. Each period spanned 1-year. Within each 1-year period, at least 2 measurements taken 3 months apart, their arithmetic mean was calculated. Only who presented hospital for DM management during all included study. While HbA1c levels significantly increased over 65 years old (P = .017), we observed a significant decrease under .014). Upon further stratification by age groups, most among those aged 75 85 years, rise also lockdown. However, there no change These findings highlight need careful monitoring elderly periods, facilitated via home care or telehealth services. Structured diet exercise programs should be provided adherence.
