Can’t stop scrolling! Adolescents’ patterns of TikTok use and digital well-being self-perception

Digital

been
gaining
attention
recently
in
the
study
effects
technology
use.
Social
networks
are

debates
over

social
media
overuse
is
often
identified
primary
issue.
Teenagers
who
spend
an
average
three
hours
daily
on
especially

researchers.

TikTok
most
popular
network
among
young
users
worldwide.
However,
there
not
many
platform-specific
studies
its
adolescent
well-being.
One
consistent
gaps
lack
research
how
different
aspects
involved

impact
adolescents'
well-being
app.

relationship
between
time
spent
TikTok,
content
and
self-perception
Given
scientific

media's

girls,
this

sought
examine
gender
differences.

purpose,
quantitative
cross-sectional
was
conducted
with
737
Spanish
adolescents
aged
12
18,
completed
online
questionnaire
validated
scales
items
usage
time,
type
Results
showed
significant
differences
consumption:
girls
more
notably
engaged
beauty
fashion
content,
while
boys
video
games
sports
suggesting
traditional
roles
still
present
their
choices
consumption.
Beyond
that,
rather
positive
by
teenagers
observed.

Este
estudio
evalúa
las
competencias
digitales
de
los
estudiantes
la
Universidad
Bolonia,
destacando
importancia
creciente
alfabetización
digital
en
educación
moderna.
Se
emplea
un
cuestionario
validado
y
adaptado
para
medir
inscritos
Pedagogía,
Ciencias
Educación
Primaria
Infancia.
La
recolección
datos
se
realiza
a
través
plataforma
Qualtrics
mediante
técnicas
presenciales,
siendo
analizados
posteriormente
con
el
software
SPSS.
Los
resultados
indican
que
muestran
alta
competencia
comunicación,
aunque
habilidades
creatividad
e
innovación
son
significativamente
más
bajas,
sin
observen
diferencias
significativas
basadas
género
o
edad
participantes.
Estas
observaciones
sugieren
necesidad
integrar
profundamente
currículos
universitarios
preparar
adecuadamente
desafíos
del
entorno
profesional,
subrayando
fomentar
uso
creativo
tecnología
formación
docente.
