Environmental surveillance for Salmonella Typhi may provide information on the community-level dynamics of typhoid fever in resource poor regions experiencing high disease burden. Many knowledge gaps concerning feasibility ES remain, especially areas lacking formal sewage systems. We implemented protocols S. ES, including site selection and catchment population estimation, sample concentration testing using qPCR specific gene targets. Between May 2021 2022, we collected grab samples Moore swabs from 43 sites Blantyre, Malawi. Catchment characteristics, water quality, human faecal contamination (qPCR Bacteroides HF183) were also recorded. Their association with detection was investigated a logistic mixed-effects regression analysis. Prevalence 2.1% (1.1-4.0%) 3.9% (1.9-7.9%) swab samples, respectively. HF183 associated positivity, unit increase log genome copies/microlitre increasing odds by 1.56 (95% CI: 1.29-1.89) 1.33 (1.10-1.61) The location timing through not incidence reported populations. During this period relatively low incidence, wastewater continued to detect suggesting that natural river systems can be sensitive indicator transmission.

A total of 74 clinical samples Formalin-Fixed Paraffin-Embedded (FFPE) were collected from patients diagnosed with prostate cancer (PCa) aged between 41 and 90 years these obtained treated at notable medical institutions like Al-Sadr Medical City leading laboratories in Al-Najaf City, Iraq, during the period January to December 2023. Prostate is considered a common malignant tumor males, studies are still investigating possible relationship appearance this disease other factors, including viral infections, which investigated current study search links presence human BK oncolytic viruses (BKV). The JC (JCV) emergence disease. indicated potential role JCV virus provoking prostatitis, may lead development males compared who do not suffer infection. present showed absence BKV DNA tissue DNA, as percentage positive reached (11, 14.864%) negative (63, 85.135%).

Abstract The release of inadequately treated wastewater, containing human viruses, into the water environment or agricultural use represent a major problem in public health. In this study we evaluated presence polyomavirus (HPyV), papillomavirus (HPV), hepatitis A virus (HAV), and E (HEV) urban sewage among children with acute gastroenteritis by real time PCR. seasonal distribution wastewater viral removal treatment process were also evaluated. HPyV, HPV, HAV, HEV, detected 68%, 39.6% 42.4%, 33.3% raw 21%, 9.4%, 18.7%, 0% samples. Among 200 gastroenteritis, HEV 72.5%, 50%, 13%, 5% stool samples tested, respectively. HPyV was more prevalent both environmental clinical concentration these viruses (HPyV, HEV) sewage, ranged from 1.30×101 GC/ml to 9.86×107 mean 3.62 ×106, 0 2.15×105 4.03×103, 1.40×101 9.85×107 GC/g 4.05×106 GC/g, Examination efficiency based on values at entry exit observed an overall reduction 49.5%, 47.9%, 41.2%, 100%, for This showed benefit monitoring as additional tool investigate epidemiology circulating given community.
