The increase in rainfall intensity caused by climate change, combined with high levels of urban soil sealing and the limited capacity drainage systems, is significantly increasing flooding risk. Integrated stormwater management a key factor dealing consequences change mitigating flood risk based on nature-based solutions. An experimental site was designed to assess hydrological response vegetated swales depending different catchment surfaces, evaluate impact spatial variability hydraulic conductivity (K). A model developed EPA SWMM calibrated measured data two active surfaces (N6—50 m2 N11—100 m2). validation assessed NSE scores higher than 0.7. simulations considered various factors, such as water level swales, actual rainfall, evapotranspiration, swale geometry, area (Sa), conductivities natural silty soil, assess, for heaviest event, best morphological characteristics. study examined K (8) Sa (6) storage capacity, 250 mm depth. showed that overflow limit exceeded N10 (90 m2) when ≤ 2 × 10−6 m/s, N11 (100 4 m/s. These results provide valuable information optimal swales’ geometrical physical properties.

The Cicatih River in the Cikembar sub-watershed, located Sukabumi Regency, flows along upstream of sub-watershed and Palabuhan Ratu Bay. For decades, river has served as a vital water resource, catering to various needs such domestic use, agriculture, livestock, fisheries, industry, mining, tourism, hydroelectric power. Recently, Regency Government made pollution coastal areas one priority issues on sustainable development initiatives for Regency. This highlights importance managing River, main rivers regency. research aims analyze potential loads by assessing its quality status from four sectors: domestic, agricultural, industrial. was calculated based Pollution Index method. load different sources analyzed using emission factor calculations. each pollutant source, following parameters were analyzed: total suspended solids (TSS), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical (COD), Total-N (nitrogen), Total-P (phosphorus). Results showed that condition is slightly polluted. parameter exceeding maximum threshold BOD. largest contributor BOD sector (53%), while agricultural least (2%). In sector, Bojongkembar Village load. results this analysis can be used develop strategies overall sub-watershed.

Inundation and flooding are problems that often occur in many cities worldwide, including university campuses. This research aims to examine the existing drainage conditions on Universitas Islam Riau (UIR) campus identify solutions overcome inundation probably UIR extreme conditions. The method this study uses EPA's SWMM (Storm Water Management Model) 5.2 software simulation program. results indicate current system is unable handle rain discharge during In study, three improvements set up analyze hydrological characteristics. first improvement traditional by changing channel dimensions. second using Low Impact Development (LID) technology, which combination of 14 infiltration wells 7 Biopore Infiltration Holeare applied. third 3 LID: well, Hole, Rain Harvesting (RWH). From results, runoff one was reduced 21.5%. improvement, where 2 LID used, 51.5%; finally, 57.6%. So, scenario most effective overcoming or scenario. Abstract Kupang, a pivotal economic and administrative hub in Nusa Tenggara Timur, Indonesia, faces recurring droughts resulting crop failures, food insecurity, health problems. Addressing this water crisis entails rainwater harvesting as potential solution. This study establishes comprehensive framework for prioritizing areas Kupang. Using the weighted overlay method open-source GIS software, our approach involves three stages: identifying drought flood priority zones, defining suitability indicators, quantifying of systems. By leveraging climatological, geological, hydrological information, we determine management. Our analysis integrates climatological land use cover mapping, runoff assessment, index. Quantification system requirements hinges on rooftop area population data. The entire wards Kupang are classified high priorities mitigation. Therefore, is viable strategy all wards. most prioritized in-demand wards, Oesapa, Sikumana, Lasiana, Liliba, have to install minimum 12,000 systems, each with 1500-liter volume barrel.

This study examines the influence of planting mixture variations on quality percolated water rain garden with and without plants. Six mixtures in experimental gardens have been used. It has noted that pollutant removal efficiency RG can exhibit based specific parameters. Notably, RG6, utilizing a mix 75% topsoil 25% compost, demonstrated highest performance. These results draw attention to critical role influencing performance vital parameters related removal. The observation shows RG5 exhibits exceptional pH, Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical (COD), RG6 performs best electrical conductivity (EC), Dissolved (TDS), Nitrogen (TN), Phosphorus (TP) In particular, when analyzing surface Madagascar periwinkle plants, emerges as most effective, achieving an impressive approximately 49%. For bare surface, is 40%. outcome will be useful deciding composition mixture, which keep improve quantitatively hydrological performance, lowering urban flooding magnitude.

Abstract Sewer sediments contain various hazardous compounds, leading to significant pollution risks when combined sewer overflows (CSOs) occur without appropriate controls. This paper presents a comprehensive review of the issues associated with particles in sewers, specifically focusing on non-negligible contribution particulate matter CSOs, which leads urban rivers. Therefore, sources their contributions overflow particles, and specific areas concern it comes managing during particle transportation are outlined. Overall, carefully considering goal avoiding sedimentation drainage system design is most effective prevention control method for pipeline sediment, where minimum velocity shear stress core parameters. The establishment flexible adaptive simulation pipelines requires reliable erosion, development sediment facilities strong adaptability, evaluation economic environmental benefits. With ongoing enhancement urbanization developing countries, such studies will have more practical significance.

The approach reconstruction often used address this issue but its poses significant challenges vulnerable areas. It has been observed that current trends show researchers have recognized importance providing communities with resilient can withstand impact disasters. However, recent works literature lack an overview latest and advancements practices specifically during development project phases. Therefore, study aims provide inclusive understanding fundamental phases enhance preparedness sector. By using systematic review, identified settlements under five dimensions phases; hazard assessment, identification, mitigative adaptation, planning, recovery planning. This paper provides comprehensive combining various stages resilience, ensuring both future developments are equipped potential prioritizing taking proactive measures on communities, expected create more sustainable communities.

The sponge city is a new concept of stormwater management for ecological construction, which aims to restore water-cycle processes and reduce runoff. Cities in coastal districts are suffering from serious instability due high population density, urbanization, land-use changes. However, previous research contains few evaluations balancing urban indicators performance, including geographical, environmental, economic, social factors, their effect on resilience at macro level develop low-impact development schemes. In this study, we developed an integrated framework using factor analysis, geographical statistics, multi-objective remote sensing methods extract the factors influencing establish spatial pattern results indicated that urbanization degree plant adaptability had greatest impact with weights 45 27%, respectively. Sponge schemes performed best combination scenario 14.8-46.8% green roofs (by area ratio) supported by grooves rain barrels +10% herbaceous basins divided into units tree pools permeable pavements sidewalks. This balanced facilities cost optimize pattern, improved conditions.
