ABSTRACT Treatment of wastewater from aquaculture with high nitrogen compound concentrations would contribute to the sustainable industry. The anaerobic ammonium oxidation (ANAMMOX) mechanism was a potential technology considering its capability directly convert and produce gas under conditions. This research aimed cultivate locally isolated ANAMMOX bacteria marine samples while exploring effectiveness removal biologically in developed fixed film bioreactor. laboratory-scale experiment used sludge sample local lagoon as inoculum. efficiency development indicate process's effectiveness. After 200 days reactor operation, (ACE) 70.39 82.49% (NRE). loading rate (NLR) value 0.30 kg-N/m3.d highest (NRR) 0.125 kg-N/m3.d. ratio stoichiometric for this study 1 mol 1.00 nitrite 0.21 nitrate production (1:1.00:0.21). findings could establish implementation on remediation toward an industrial scale.
