Every country in the world, except for African nations, faces significant challenges due to increasing older population, with China being particularly affected. This issue is more pronounced rural areas compared urban centers. To better understand consumer attitudes and willingness pay (WTP) age-friendly retrofitting identify industry development shortcomings, this study designed a scenario organized questionnaire survey collect WTP its influencing factors from respondents Wuhu area of Anhui Province, China. determined retrofit cost be CNY 12,224.4 found that over 80% intended pursue retrofitting. The analysis results indicated respondents’ education level, perceived psychological benefits, social benefits were positively correlated their WTP. Additionally, monthly personal income, choice retirement influenced budgets, whereas age bracket, employment status, situational risk negatively them. study’s findings will assist consumers making informed decisions support government formulating appropriate policies enhance quality residential environments improve living standards elderly.

In contemporary society, a notable trend of diminishing family sizes has led to an increasing number elderly individuals living in solitude, often facing the end life alone. This phenomenon underscores critical challenge: addressing pervasive loneliness experienced by many seniors. response this pressing issue, concept “cross-generational co-living” emerges as potential solution. By exploring and implementing cross-generational co-living models, research contributes development more inclusive, supportive, adaptable environments. ABSTRACTUnderstanding individuals' long-term care preferences is essential to the provision of person-centered care. This study aims describe for settings and investigates sociocultural factors associated with among older Chinese adults. Responses from 22,112 adults aged 60 years or above were analyzed using multinomial logistic regression. Four ideal identified: in-home care, community day institutional undecided arrangements.
