Self-tracking has become omnipresent in our daily lives. By providing insights into how work practices relate to performance or (physical and mental) health, quantified-self technologies (QST) have also made their way the world of work. Contemporary QST process personal data from multiple sources help people gain a better knowledge about themselves at According humanistic psychology, humans an initial drive grow self-actualize, that is, version themselves. A key step towards self-actualization is accepting oneself without meeting certain conditions thus questioning so called "conditions worth" (e.g., I am valued person if good my job). In this article, we discuss possible effects workplace. We raise question, could be either used as tool locate growth outside capitalist labor or, on contrary, create worth promote "entrepreneurial self" – self which driven constantly improve therefore vulnerable for self-exploitation. development, design choices determine whether they are more designed toward idea entrepreneurial self. Thus, conclude article by formulating implications QST, cluster along actors purpose technology (Who? Why?), specifics context (Where?), temporal aspects usage (When?), elements (How?).

Digital health technologies transform practices, roles, and relationships in medicine. New possibilities for a ubiquitous constant data collection the processing of real-time enable more personalized services. These might also allow users to actively participate thus potentially changing role patients from passive receivers healthcare active agents. The crucial driving force this transformation is implementation data-intensive surveillance monitoring as well self-monitoring technologies. Some commentators use terms like revolution, democratization, empowerment describe aforementioned process public debate most ethical discourse on digital tends focus themselves, mostly ignoring economic framework their design implementation. Analyzing connected needs an epistemic lens that considers said framework, which I argue capitalism. This paper introduces concept liquid such lens. Liquid based Zygmunt Bauman's framing modernity liquefaction dissolves traditional norms standards, relations. By using lens, aim show how reshape concepts illness, change scope medical domain, liquify roles surround healthcare. basic hypothesis although can lead personalization treatment users, capitalism may undermine these very goals. Using allows us better understand practices are shaped by specific they inseparably attached to.

Objective The term consumer health technologies we use in this paper refers to fitness and apps, wearables other self-tracking devices that collect health-related data. Our aims bridge the gap between growing literature base of sociological research ethical reflection on (non-intended) effects technology psycho-social level, such as stress, responsibilization or a loss intuitive sense for signs illness. Special consideration should be given vulnerable individuals, positive negative may unequally distributed. This perspective help guide policymaking responsible development technologies. Methods Using narrative review approach, refer empirical theoretical studies dealing with user types related We provide an overview typologies evidence unintended use. On basis, propose typology serve future tool side effects. Results Evidence potential use, presented literature, is inconclusive due high diversity users way they proposed more comprehensively document by incorporating which identify their self-tracked data, attitudes towards new social interactions via technologies, purpose self-determinedness Conclusions More systematic quantitative diverse settings necessary inform public policy. In addition evidence-based certification medical practical flexible ways protect from have developed adopted, especially regarding increasing number non-medical

University students often experience sleep disturbances and disorders. Personal digital technologies present a great opportunity for health promotion targeting this population. However, studies that engage university in designing implementing are scarce. This study sought to understand how we could build meet the needs of through co-design process. We conducted three workshops with 51 identify design opportunities generate features apps workshop activities. The generated ideas were organized using stage-based model self-tracking so our findings be well-situated within context personal informatics. Our contribute new along dimensions environment optimization, online community, gamification, generative AI, materializing learning, personalization.
