BACKGROUND Internet use has dramatically increased worldwide, with over two-thirds of the world’s population using it, including older adult population. Technical resources such as internet have been shown to influence psychological processes stress positively. Following Conservation Resources theory by Hobfoll, experience largely depends on individuals’ personal and changes in these resources. While resource loss lead stress, we know little regarding role that technical may play relationship between stress. Abstract Background While many digital mental health interventions (DMHIs) have been shown to be effective, such also criticized for poor engagement and retention rates. However, several questions remain about how users engage with DMHIs, define engagement, what factors might help improve DMHI engagement. Main abstract In this narrative review, we show that although DMHIs are research suggests rates quite variable across studies DMHIs. some instances, high, even in real-world settings where there is evidence of a subset who could considered ‘superusers’. Health care technologies have the ability to bridge or hinder equitable care. Advocates of digital mental health interventions (DMHIs) report that such are poised reduce documented gross inequities plagued generations people seeking in United States. This is due a multitude factors as their potential revolutionize access; mitigate logistical barriers in-person care; and leverage patient inputs formulate tailored, responsive, personalized experiences. Although we agree with DMHIs advance equity, articulate several steps essential mobilize sustain meaningful forward progression this endeavor, reflecting on decades research learnings drawn from multiple fields expertise real-world experience. First, DMHI manufacturers must build diversity, inclusion, belonging (DEIB) processes into full spectrum product evolution itself (eg, design, evidence generation) well fabric internal company practices talent recruitment, communication principles, advisory boards). Second, awareness DEIB efforts—or lack thereof—in trials needed refine optimize future study design for inclusivity proactively address doing so. Trials should incorporate thoughtful, inclusive, creative approaches enrollment, measurement social determinants self-identity, prioritization planned exploratory analyses examining outcomes across various groups people. Third, advocacy, funding policies, local federal legislation can these pursuits, directives US Preventive Services Taskforce, National Institutes Health, Food Drug Administration applied poignant examples. For products artificial intelligence/machine learning, maintaining “human loop” prespecified adaptive analytic frameworks monitor remediate algorithmic bias risk increasing inequity. Last, but certainly not least, call partnership transparency within ecosystems (academic, industry, payer, provider, regulatory agencies, value-based organizations) reliably equity deployments evidence-generation strategies. All considerations also extend context an equity-informed commercial strategy organizations alike. The innovation apparent. Background Electronic mental health literacy (eMHL) is critical for accessing and effectively using digital resources. However, there a paucity of research on how eMHL varies across age groups. Objective This study aimed to investigate differences in among young, middle-aged, older adults; provide insights into the needs, behaviors, attitudes different groups relation resources; ultimately, inform improvement services. Methods A qualitative investigation was conducted examine demographics Chinese population 2023. The sample comprised 3 distinct groups: 18-34 years, 35-64 65 years older. Participants were recruited through purposive sampling ensure diverse representation population. Data collected semistructured one-on-one interviews, which allowed in-depth exploration individual experiences perceptions. gathered data subsequently subjected rigorous thematic analysis enable identification interpretation recurring patterns themes. Results principal outcomes derived from these interviews synthesized 5 dimensions: emotional use resources, assessment information, engagement with social media regulate emotions, coping strategies. These dimensions uniformly observed Conclusions We identified knowledge, skills, regarding web-based information managing problems between findings highlight importance age-specific strategies improving eMHL.

BACKGROUND Mental health problems are highly prevalent with mental apps emerging as a potential scalable solution. However, in the current policy environment, it remains unclear to what extent clinical populations benefiting from or at risk of suboptimal outcomes app market. OBJECTIVE To investigate relationship between symptoms and preferences, specifically examining if symptom presence correlates usage selection, how severity engagement patterns. METHODS A representative survey 2000 UK working adults was conducted. mentioned were reviewed categorised based on their features they target. We analysed relationships participant characteristics category assessed associations factors metrics. RESULTS The study found that 36% participants reported using app, higher rates among younger more educated individuals. classified use General Wellness, Medical Healthcare, Physical Health, Women’s Casual Health Clinical distinction latter two categories being casual self-help vs clinically focused evidence-based features. apps, which accounted for 46% total mentions, far popular than (7%). strong observed both apps. Age consistently correlated longer duration across all categories. CONCLUSIONS Many individuals seek out but most engage over ones. majority those complex needs may not be accessing appropriate app-based interventions. Future research should establish clearer impact metrics beyond examine effectiveness rigorously. Policy initiatives improve labelling increase transparency around also warranted.
