This study investigated how the online health information behaviors of U.S. adults with illnesses unrelated to COVID-19 virus infection affected their coping problems and concerns during pandemic. Guided by cybercoping model (Kim & Lee, 2014), examined associations between these patients' (information seeking forwarding) outcomes (health affective states). The further explored mediating roles processes (problem-and emotion-focused) in outcomes. Survey data from 687 participants were analyzed using structural equation modeling. results highlighted significance forwarding enhancing both outcomes, while enhanced problem-focused health-problem alone. These more pronounced among without chronic conditions than those illnesses. findings' implications, study's limitations, suggestions for future research also addressed.

The modernization of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program is a priority. Texas WIC chatbot, Maya, streamlines client interactions through dialog-based responses. This qualitative study explored capabilities, motivations, opportunities seeking nutrition information about breastfeeding, formula feeding, infant feeding safety, adequacy complementary via chatbot. A team conducted in-depth semi-structured interviews with clients (n = 19 women). All were transcribed subjected to two-coder, four-phase process utilizing theory-based codebook. Codes compiled thematically categorized. Identified themes included (1) motivations necessity or resource availability, (2) capabilities Maya usability, (3) connection, support, encouragement. that participated in this expressed engage Maya. Background Social media (SM) is increasingly used in the healthcare system and offers various benefits for patients such as accessible health information communication with other professionals. However, SM also poses risks, including dissemination of medical misinformation privacy concerns. This turn can influence patients’ health-related decision-making patient-physician relationship. There limited data regarding which orthopedic use what risks they perceive. Methods An online survey was conducted from April to December 2023 among trauma five German clinics. The questionnaire 32 variables designed assess internet usage patterns, platform preferences, perceived risks. Statistical analysis performed, subgroup analyses. Results A total 267 participated, 82.0% reporting regular use. In 45.9% general questions 51.3% orthopedic-related questions. most platforms were conventional websites, YouTube, Instagram, messenger apps. infrequently questions, queries. Only 13.7% agreed that helped decision-making, 31.1% felt confident assessing credibility content. Additionally, 58.6% unsure about allowing physicians present their cases on SM, 62.3% uncertain posting images. Conclusion Among patients, gain low given study. While may offer valuable information, role remains due concerns over content privacy. Video-based seems achieve best reach. Health literacy facilitates an individual's ability to interpret and utilize medical information, thereby influencing their quality of life. Despite the benefits, current oversaturation information necessitates support healthcare professionals. Help-seeking behavior (HSB) is a term that describes actions taken assuage health concerns, timely consultations are critical, especially for older individuals in rural areas who often face barriers accessing care. These challenges exacerbated by perceived psychological distance from services settings due past negative experiences; however, emergence social media has helped form bridge, allowing direct communication with physicians. While artificial intelligence (AI) do occur, interaction human physicians remains gold standard. Thus, this study sought understand media's role facilitating implications primary care education among This qualitative study, conducted September 2022 June 2023, employed grounded theory approach analyze about network-based consulting system utilized LINE application. Residents posted anonymous health-related comments were extracted. Two researchers coded assessed data; another specialist reviewed findings. A total 621 citizens participated, generating 10,432 posts. Background Digital platforms offer a venue for patients and physicians to exchange health information provide care services outside traditional organizational contexts. Previous studies have seldom focused on the factors that drive proactivity of physicians’ online behavior. Additionally, there is limited research exploring influence behavior, particularly from perspective possessing power. Objective This study aims investigate effect patient-empowering behaviors knowledge sharing uncover potential mechanisms proactivity. Based proactive motivational model empowerment theory, we propose existence reverse process, where flows physicians. Data analysis performed 2 stages. first stage assessed reliability validity, Harman 1-factor test confirmatory factor analysis. second used partial least squares-structural equation modeling examine direct, moderation, mediation effects among constructs, with bootstrapping significance testing. comprehensive approach ensures robust hypotheses contributes overall validity model. Results Perceived significantly positively (β=0.27, P<.001). Knowledge-sharing self-efficacy (effect=0.06, P=.04), meaning (effect=0.12, P<.001), affect (effect=0.10, P=.003) each partially mediate states play complete role, entire indirect significant (effect=0.29, while direct nonsignificant (effect=0.07, P=.26). rewards negatively moderate (β=–0.13, P=.001).
