BACKGROUND Digital health interventions are a promising method for delivering timely support to underresourced family caregivers. The uptake of digital among caregivers may be improved by engaging in participatory design (PD). In recent years, there has been shift toward conducting PD remotely, which enable participation previously hard-to-reach groups. However, little is known regarding how best facilitate engagement remote OBJECTIVE This study aims (1) understand the context, quality, and outcomes caregivers’ experiences (2) learn aspects observed approach facilitated or need improved. METHODS We analyzed qualitative quantitative data from evaluation reflection surveys interviews completed research community partners (family caregivers) across 4 studies. Studies focused on building For each study, met with 5 sessions 6 months. After session, an survey. 1 studies, survey interview. Descriptive statistics were used summarize data, while reflexive thematic analysis was data. RESULTS 62.9% (83/132) evaluations projects 1-3, participants described session as “very effective.” 74% (28/38) project 4, feeling “extremely satisfied” session. Qualitative relating context identified that identities partners, technological PD, partners’ understanding their role all influenced engagement. Within domain relationship-building co-learning; satisfaction prework, activities, time allotted, final prototype; inclusivity distribution influence contributed experience Outcomes included ongoing interest after its conclusion, gratitude participation, sense meaning self-esteem. BACKGROUND The growing prevalence of mental health disorders among young people is a pressing global concern, particularly in low- and middle-income countries where access to care limited. Digital tools, leveraging Information Communication Technologies, hold promise for bridging these gaps by providing accessible, user-friendly resources self-management support. OBJECTIVE This study evaluated the feasibility two digital tools—Youth Collective Minds (YMC), web-based platform, Mental Beat (MB), smartphone app—targeted at individuals aged 18–25 Bogotá, Colombia. METHODS Participants (N=35) engaged with both platforms over three-week period. trial employed mixed-methods design, incorporating thematic analysis deductive framework qualitative data. Univariate analyses were performed examine baseline patterns data distributions, while bivariate conducted investigate relationships associations between variables, comprehensive evaluation platforms’ acceptability, demand, implementation, practicality domains. RESULTS primarily female (63%) median age 23 years. Both well-received, 83% expressing willingness reuse YMC 71% MB. highlighted YMC’s psychoeducational MB’s ease use as strengths. However, technical issues, including server malfunctions insufficient feedback, impacted engagement. Sensor from MB indicated significant psychological distress usage. higher showed greater battery charging (585 [IQR: 294]) compared those without (188 267]; P=.041). Poor sleep quality was also associated increased discharge (2867 2238]) participants who reported sufficient (556 2768]; P=.003). GPS that visited more unique locations had lower scores, negative correlation (r=-0.424, P=.05). In terms platform usage, YMC, surveys on emotions (86%) stress (80%) most frequently completed, telecounseling services underutilized, only 8.6% accessing telecounseling. MB, positive (97.1%) answered than 90% participants. These findings highlight key engagement within CONCLUSIONS demonstrated acceptability tools support Colombian youth. Findings suggest promote self-awareness management but require refinements enhance study’s limitations, small sample size short duration, underscore need broader research. Implementing participant strengthening cybersecurity, scaling could address challenges LMICs, such interventions are critically needed. represent promising steps toward access.
