Background Acquired brain injury (ABI) is a prominent cause of disability globally, with virtual reality (VR) emerging as promising aid in neurorehabilitation. Nonetheless, the diversity among VR interventions can result inconsistent outcomes and pose challenges determining efficacy. Recent reviews offer best practice recommendations for designing implementing therapeutic to evaluate acceptance fully immersive interventions. Objective This study aims usability feasibility co-designed VR-based neurorehabilitation support tool by conducting multiple proof-of-concept trials sample patients ABI within hospital setting. Methods A single session deploying custom serious games train cognitive functions using new-generation head-mounted display was conducted inpatients ABI. Structured questionnaires were administered at end system intervention, participants’ familiarity technology, any adverse effects related cybersickness. Additionally, training duration while wearing headset demographic characteristics participants considered. Results total 20 participated 1-hour trial. The mean score 37 (SD 2.6) out 40, technology level 9.2 2.9) 12, Simulator Sickness Questionnaire 1.3 2). On average, wore approximately 25.6 4.7) minutes during intervention. There no substantial differences levels based on patients’ etiology or age, notable symptoms cybersickness reported. Significantly strong correlations noted between various categories, including exposure, motivation, interactivity, task specificity, immersion aspects. Further, there significant association intervention time number tasks performed (P<.001). Furthermore, who derived enjoyment from sessions expressed heightened interest incorporating into their daily Moreover, oculomotor issues found be highly sensitive onset disorientation sickness Conclusions Through collaborative approach, this showcases rehabilitation Key components such encompass multidisciplinary array experiences integrating principles techniques.

BACKGROUND Stroke often triggers post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) within six months, impairing memory, attention, and executive function while exacerbating physical disabilities mortality. Computerized training (CCT) is a promising treatment approach. Compared to traditional methods, CCT provides cost-effective, easily accessible, personalized repetitive rehabilitation training. Therefore, we performed systematic review of the efficacy improve in patients with PSCI supplemented findings meta-analysis. OBJECTIVE To evaluate comparison usual care or routine for PSCI, aim providing clinicians therapists more effective convenient therapeutic options. METHODS The search was conducted across multiple databases, including PubMed, Web Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, Scopus, covering publications from 2010 June 2024, focus on English-language articles. primary outcome measured function, assessed through standardized scales, secondary outcomes included daily living activities motor patients. risk bias evaluated using Risk Bias tool, quality evidence determined according GRADE framework. RESULTS A total nineteen trials were meta-analysis (n = 880 participants). provided moderate high-quality indicating that significantly enhances general (15 trials, mean difference [SMD]= 0.46, 95% CI 0.21 0.71; P <.001, I2 60%), attention (11 SMD -0.41, -0.62 -0.20; 15%), (6 0.39, 0.12 0.67; =.005, 0%), life (9 0.34, 0.15 0.53; 6%). Over the last few years, there has been a growing interest in workout apps and active virtual reality video games (AVRGs), which provide entertainment enable users to undertake various forms of physical activity (PA) at home. Presumably, these types exercises can be particularly useful for people with disabilities, who experience problems access sports leisure facilities due architectural communication barriers. However, it is interesting whether intensity PA VR high enough health benefits, as mainly based on arm movements.

Objectives: Effective prevention programs targeting risk factors for cognitive decline in the elderly are recommended given progressive increase ageing of general population. The Social and Cognitive Online Training (SCOT) project is a randomized, controlled, parallel clinical trial designed to prevent age-related executive social functions. Methods: study included 60 cognitively healthy older adults (age=71.8±5.3, education=12.3±3.7, MoCA=25.1±2.4). Participants underwent baseline neuropsychological assessment were then assigned either an experimental group or non-specific training (CON). Both 8-week digital interventions two individual sessions one meeting per week. Post-intervention evaluated efficacy on specific outcome measures: Tower London functioning, Ekman-60 Faces test, Mini-Social cognition & Emotional Assessment battery cognition. A measure loneliness was as exploratory outcome. Results: Baseline demographic characteristics balanced between SCOT (n=29) CON (n=28) groups. Pre-post-intervention analyses showed improvements functioning both groups, without significant interaction effects. Exploratory post-hoc stratifying by performance post-training emotion recognition, theory mind high-performing participants. Discussion: Results provide preliminary evidence beneficial effects training, particularly those who performed best during training. could represent new intervention promote socio-cognitive well-being context active dementia prevention.

Stroke is one of the leading causes disability worldwide. In next few decades, post-stroke expected to increase by up 35% due current in cerebrovascular risk factors. Disabilities caused stroke can include cognitive and motor impairment. The research on rehabilitation mostly focuses aspect. Recently, International Recovery Rehabilitation Alliance 2018 stated that impairment (PSCI) priorities. Following recent technological developments, virtual reality (VR)-based therapy now emerging. This technology attractive because it simulate various activities a safe environment. However, VR for patients still does not have specific guidelines must be followed, so types interventions carried out through vary. Therefore, this study aims assess how benefits using improving function what show greatest benefits. systematic review meta-analysis conducted based Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) 2020 guidelines. data used were obtained from PubMed, Scopus, Science Direct databases. search was done without any year restriction. studies included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) pilot RCTs. eight involving 313 participants total.
