BACKGROUND Given the health benefits of Internet use among older adults, inadequate is an urgent public issue in many countries. OBJECTIVE We aimed to determine whether visual impairment associated with a population-based sample adults. METHODS This cross-sectional study sourced data for year 2016 from Japan Gerontological Evaluation Study (JAGES). It included community-dwelling individuals aged ≥ 65 years (n =19,452 ) Japan. used multivariate logistic regression multiple imputations analyze status, daily use, and any correlations between them. RESULTS observed that 4,599 (23.6%) respondents almost daily. Even after adjusting several covariates, significant associations persisted status usage. The odds ratios (ORs) tended increase as improved (P trend < .001). adjusted ORs excellent very good who were 1.36 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.20‒1.54) 1.24 CI: 1.14‒1.35), respectively. Conversely, OR those fair/poor was 0.75 0.63‒0.88). CONCLUSIONS Visual negatively impacted by highlights need address impairments promote healthcare services become more easily accessed online.

Patients with liver cirrhosis often experience factors such as malnutrition and lack of exercise, leading to reduced quality life. Insufficient social support is related self-management in patients chronic diseases. Therefore, this study explores the mediating role relationship between life, analyzing impact exercise frequency risk assessment on support, self-management, Using a convenience sampling method, cross-sectional data were collected from 257 at infectious disease department tertiary hospital Zunyi, China, 2021 2022. The evaluated using demographic questionnaire, Self-Management Behavior Scale for Liver Cirrhosis Patients, Social Support Rating (SSRS), Chronic Disease Questionnaire (CLDQ), Royal Free Hospital Nutritional Prioritizing Tool (RFH-NPT). Data analyzed SPSS PROCESS software. (1) decompensated stage those classified Child-Pugh class B/C had lower scores compared compensated Class A. (2) Quality life was positively correlated both (r = 0.668, r 0.665, P < 0.001). (3) Mediation analysis showed that direct predictive effect an indirect 0.489 (95% CI: 0.362, 0.629), accounting 40.58% total effect. (4) Exercise independent influencing (5) In regression model, after excluding confounding factors, Model I explained 14% variance due control variables, II 49.5%, when added, III 56.9% Under can improve assessment, also modulate self-management. These findings underscore importance strengthening developing programs targeting nutrition enhance cirrhosis.

Background Depressive symptoms represent a significant public health challenge, impacting the mental well-being of older adults. Despite this, understanding how activities daily living (ADL) abilities correlate with life satisfaction and depressive among Chinese adults remains limited. Aims This study aims to investigate relationship between ADL in people individuals, specific focus on examining mediating role within this context. Methods The utilized data from China Health Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) collected 2020. A cohort 8,343 individuals aged 60 years above was included. analysis conducted using STATA 17.0 SPSS 26.0, employing descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, Pearson correlations, mediation percentile Bootstrap method 5,000 resamples explore interrelations ADL, satisfaction, symptoms. Results is positively correlated (r = 0.129, p < 0.01) negatively −0.313, 0.01). Additionally, are each other −0.360, In model effect, directly, significantly predicts (β −0.193, t −17.827, 0.001). Objectives Internet use and the results of mental health are related. Numbers studies presented association between depression, middle-aged elderly adults with multimorbidity concern. The study aimed to explore relationship depression in multimorbidity. Methods We selected 2550 respondents aged 45 years above from China Health Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) 2018 database. Logistic regression models were constructed examine effects on as well comparing gender differences. Meanwhile, propensity score matching (PSM) was used test robustness results. Results Overall, 49.8% had a risk developing 14.9% participants Internet. ( OR = 0.66, P 0.002), type devices (one type: 0.69, .011;≥2 types: 0.53, 0.03), frequency (regularly: 0.67, 0.005) all inversely associated depression. Significant differences genders observed, lower prevalence among men, while not statistically significant women. Conclusions There is significantly negative China, this varies across different genders. This suggests that may be protective factor for depressive symptoms older population, offering guideline policymakers develop specific strategies

Objective The aging population is thriving worldwide, and it critical to improve the health of older adults through physical activity (PA). Although Internet can promote PA in adults, limited studies have used objective tools measure it. Thus, we aimed investigate association between frequency use levels adults. Methods For this cross-sectional study, employed convenience sampling. participants were 172 aged 65 without cognitive impairment who could walk independently. We measured using a triaxial accelerometer, step counts, moderate-to-vigorous (MVPA). via self-report questionnaire, separated by into high, moderate, low or no use. performed one-way analysis variance (ANOVA) multiple logistic regression examine relationship PA. Results included total (72.0 ± 5.5 years; 78.5% female). group that with moderate exhibited higher daily counts than not at all (moderate frequency: 7,888 steps > use: 6,070.6 steps). Compared frequency, those did less likely meet recommendations World Health Organization (WHO) regarding [odds ratio (OR): 0.242; 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.077–0.751]. Conclusion Older (i.e., once week all, respectively) WHO’s recommended for frequency. findings study inform efforts reduce age-related risks strategies encouraging
