Patients undergoing evaluation for musculoskeletal concerns are often seen by a physician and physical therapist in the in-person setting sequential manner. This process typically delays onset of nonoperative care, inclusive therapy, creates risk inadequate clinical collaboration between therapist. To address these issues, we designed novel initial patient to group visit which both specialty-trained simultaneously evaluate together digital encounter. The aim study is gain insights from patients on their experience with this innovative simultaneous medical doctor (MD+PT) format concerns. An electronic 7-question survey was sent 750 who completed an MD+PT asking them comment prior evaluations format. In total, 195 (26%) responded frequent body regions diagnosis being lumbar spine (n=65), knee (n=32), shoulder (n=21), cervical (n=20), hip (n=14), hand (n=11). Most had or nurse practitioner (171/195, 87.7%) (148/195, 75.9%) nearly all such encounters (161/171,94.2% 144/148, 97.3% therapy). Only 3.1% (6/193) reported seeing during same visit. rated very favorably: type saved time (179/192, 93.2%) permitted promptly start treatment plan (174/192, 90.6%). Overall, 87.5% (168/192) as enjoyable, 92.2% (177/192) that it increased confidence understanding condition how treating it. Artificial intelligence (AI) and digital health (DH) solutions are reshaping musculoskeletal (MSK) care across diagnostics, treatment planning, workflow optimization, administrative burden reduction. AI-enabled triage systems enhance patient flow efficiency, while automated scheduling, symptom checkers, AI-powered virtual assistants streamline pre-visit interactions. In MSK radiographic AI augments imaging interpretation, enabling fracture detection, opportunistic screening, quantitative imaging, improving diagnostic accuracy standardization. Preoperative planning facilitate implant templating, surgical navigation, patient-specific instrumentation, reducing variability enhancing precision. Concurrently, scribes AI-driven documentation tools alleviate overhead, mitigating clinician burnout refocused engagement. Predictive analytics optimize pathways by leveraging multimodal data for risk stratification personalized decision support. However, algorithmic bias, model generalizability, regulatory hurdles, legal ambiguities present substantial implementation barriers, necessitating rigorous validation, adaptive governance, seamless clinical integration. The U.S. EU landscapes diverge in their approaches to oversight, with the former favoring expedited market access latter imposing stringent compliance mandates under Act. AI’s integration into demands robust validation frameworks, standardized interoperability protocols, dynamic balancing safety innovation. Emerging generalist foundation models, open-source large language models (LLMs), specialized medical applications herald a paradigm shift toward precision care. These innovations will require prospective ensure benefit mitigate risk. Addressing ethical considerations, ensuring equitable access, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration remain paramount translating potential tangible improvements healthcare delivery.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many health care providers to make changes in their treatment, with telemedicine being expanded on a large scale. An earlier study investigated the acceptance of telephone calls but did not record satisfaction treatment or patients' preferences. This warranted follow-up investigate acceptance, satisfaction, and preferences regarding telemedicine, comprising phone consultations, among recipients.

Background The COVID-19 pandemic led to a rapid transition telehealth particularly in general practice (GP) where continuous care for chronic conditions such as musculoskeletal (MSK) is provided. Aim To determine the appropriateness of MSK by identifying whether in-person tasks can be supported remotely via telehealth. Design & setting This study secondary analysis HaRI dataset. dataset comprises 281 videos recorded GP consultations. data set includes 10 practitioners, across 8 separate clinics and was collected during 2017 United Kingdom. Method Content conducted identify clinical tasks, physical examinations artefacts used A scoring method applying two key metrics developed assess translatability Results Across 31 consultations analysed, 12 five were observed. Of 17% (2/12) deemed ‘easily translatable over telehealth’ 50% (5/12) ‘relatively easy translated telehealth’. Only rated ‘moderately telehealth’, ‘potentially No this categorised untranslatable average score 7.1/10. Conclusion Most observed with patients are Further research necessary investigate long-term efficacy safety utilisation primary care.

Background Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) has been shown to effectively support postsurgical recovery in patients with lung cancer (LC) at various stages. While digital PR programs offer a potential solution traditional challenges, such as time and space constraints, their efficacy feasibility for undergoing LC surgery remain unclear. Objective This systematic review aims assess the effectiveness of individuals surgery. Methods A was conducted, retrieving data from 6 English 4 Chinese databases inception January 1, 2024. References related studies were also manually reviewed. The primary outcomes assessed physical capacity, function, incidence postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs). secondary compliance, hospital stay, chest tube duration, anxiety, depression, quality life. Where applicable, recruitment withdrawal rates evaluated. Meta-analysis descriptive analysis used outcomes. Results total 5 randomized controlled trials quasi-experimental (n=1063) included, being included meta-analyses. Our meta-analyses revealed that reduced decline 6-minute walk distance (6-MWD) by an average 15 m compared routine admission discharge, demonstrating clinically significant improvement capacity (mean difference –15.00, 95% CI –25.65 –4.34, P=.006). Additionally, associated reduction (26/58, 45%) likelihood PPCs (risk ratio 0.45, 0.30-0.66, P<.001) 1.53 days duration –1.53, –2.95 –0.12, P=.03), without statistically effect on stay –1.42, –3.45 0.62, P=.17). Descriptive analyses suggested improve knowledge, life, self-efficacy, while reducing depression anxiety. Notably, found be safe, feasible, acceptable supplementary intervention. Despite challenges low recruitment, enhanced exercise increased patient satisfaction, lowered dropout rates. Conclusions is first comprehensive suggest acceptable, effective intervention promoting after Digital valuable supplement, expanding access programs. Future research should prioritize development interactive inclusive solutions tailored diverse age groups educational backgrounds. Rigorous studies, including large-scale, high-quality detailed protocols robust methodologies, are needed short-, medium-, long-term PR, ensuring reproducibility future research.
